Many thanks to Adam Buhler (photogeek133) for providing Adobe ACR profile for this lens!

It's not really a spectacular photo but it was my first outing with the kids and the Rokkor-PG 58mm f/1.2. I'm not quite used to manual focus and it forces me to slow down. I love the bokeh on this thing though. It has a unique "flavor" to it that reminds me of the 85L. Love it!

Oh?
Did I miss this?
I would like to try this.
Is this downloaded from the Adobe lens app?

I like the orchid shot a lot. Lovely light and very pleasing colours. The good CA correction shows up in this shot I would think. What are you thinking about the sharpness of this lens? Does stopping down help much since it is f/5.6 wide open? I have only shot mine wide open, because I didn't connect the aperture ring when I converted it EOS mount. I hadn't thought it was worth it since I doubted I would want to stop down an f/5.6 lens very often, but if it improves I might take the time to do it.

i'm a big fan of the color correction. i'm a bit underwhelmed by the sharpness and the bokeh.

since i work handheld i would mostly use the lens at f/5.6 as well, unfortunately f/16 seems to be the lenses sharpest aperture (even in the center on a crop camera).

for comparison, here is the same shot (same distance and subject) taken with my leica 350/4.8 wide open:

Thanks Gregg.
I have RRS pano rail kit on order, which I plan to use mainly with Rokkor 58/1.2 and Zeiss 100/2 lenses for multi-stitching. Rokkor 58/1.2 stopped down is an amazing lens!

Have to agree with with Kokusai, Jack! WOW! Jack, how would you compare the 58 and the 50 Lux stopped down? I actually have a 58 1.2 Rokkor sitting in my bag...the only problem is, it's been converted to Sony Alpha mount, so I have to send it to Jim to have it reconverted!!

Thanks Kokusai & Gregg.
Rokkor 58/1.2 is kind of a new lens to me. I got it influenced mostly by sebboh and few others on this thread and just recently started using it on Sony A7R. My first impressions are more than positive. This is a legendary lens, mostly shown wide open, but I do recall sebboh posted a comparison between few 50mm lenses including Rokkor and Leica Summilux 50 at various distances and apertures. Not sure what versions, but it was about a year ago and you should search for it as it contains interesting material.

Thanks Jack...I'll search for it! I used an older version a few years ago, but now I have a newer version, and can't wait to convert it and use it!

Nice Peire!
Great but hard to find little gem.
How do you like it so far?
Pretty sharp 2.8 to f8.

I like it very much.Sharp from f2.8 and good enough wo.Minimal smearing in the very corners.

28mm Rokkors in general do very well on the A7.Even the old 28/2.8 MC W.55mm,which wasn't that impressive with the NEXes is sharper across the frame, without significant falloff towards the edges.Lower pixel density does miracles.
