ebookman - those are great shots from the zoom. Can you post some wide open shots as well?
I love the way the rokkors draw.IMO they are more of an artsy lens.

Agree. The more I use Rokkors the more I like them.Their rendering style is unique and beautiful, especially late MC lenses from 1973-1977.

I'm planning short trip abroad next week. The first one when Zeiss lenses will be left at home and only Rokkors go with me.

Very nice picture Jim.

Here are three shots sharing the same point of focus, all taken with the Nex 5n and the Minolta Zoom MD 35-70mm wide open at f/3.5

The focal lengths are 35mm, 50mm and 70mm so you can see the extremes and the middle range. The PP shared the same preset in Lightroom 4.

I would only add that Minolta lens have very good colors. Im not sure if they have accurate colors in technical terms, but I always found them quite beautiful. Thats one thing I miss with modern day Sony lens. Plus unlike Minolta, Sony lens arent exactly color consistent..

Your lovely daughter looks so sweet through 28/2 sebboh.

Fast Rokkors are best of the late MC bunch.Crisper and clearer than their slower counterparts.Beeing on the trip now and took a few MC Rokkors with me.Having some previous experience with MC 28/2,85/1.7,58/1.2 and 50/1.4 I discover now how crisp and clear are images from 35/1.8 , that I had not used much before.

Beautiful shots as always Michiel.I see though that the weather in Holland is not very sunny. This spring is the coldest and rainiest I remember.

Some pics taken with MC W. Rokkor HH 35/1.8-a rarely used beast that deserves more attention for it's excellence.Camera:NEX 5N.

Good old MC Rokkor PG 50/1.4

And late MC Rokkor 85/1.7

I have a question regarding experience with MC Rokkor-PG to Nikon F conversion adaptors. The two devices listed in URLs below are kind of self-explanatory (yep, no infinity but I can live with 10 meters max focus distance); however I am wondering if anyone is using any of them or similar adaptors on Nikon FF bodies and has any pro/con comments or advices. Thank you.

the first one has crappy glass in it and will destroy the performance and character of the lenses for the most part. the second one is really only for macro, i doubt you'd be able to further than 1ft focus distance with a 50mm rokkor on that.

i replaced the rokkor MD 50/1.2 mount with a nikon mount (no adapter straight mount replacement) and could not get it to focus past 1m on a nikon camera even after doing the maximal infinity stop adjustment:

the more famous rokkor 58/1.2 can be converted relatively easily to nikon mount and will reach infinity (due to a spacer that can be replaced with something much thinner), however it will cause a mirror hang on nikon cameras at infinity. most other rokkor lenses are much more difficult to convert and the wider ones will typically have mirror collision issues.

Thank you sebboh. Very helpful info, much appreciated!
I have MC Rokkor-PG 58/1.2 arriving soon (got it for a future, mirrorless use) but it looks like I may have to find another way to use it sooner. Perhaps on my old Canon EOS SLR.
