Great set Allen! Do you find much of a difference when shooting in NYC vs. Chicago?

Thanks Ron and not a lot difference just New York just has a lot more people so I get even less attention because of that. Chicago went through a lot of urban renewal in the 50s & 60s so we lost a lot of our older buildings so a lot of the neighborhoods in Chicago don't have the same flavor as New York. I really like shooting in New York as well.

Thank you very much for the comments and likes!

Zhangyue, nice continuation of the series. Color palette is very nice.

Allen, really like 4, 5 and 7! Great work!

Gary, your landscapes never disappoint

Ron, fantastic colors and strong graphic composition.

Philip, love this portrait, lighting, flare and all.

Edward, the ZM glass really works great with the clarity of light and shapes of the monuments. I could spend all day in such a place...

Allen - my impression of central Chicago is it's more Metropolis-like; more monumental with tightly packed tall buildings and a relatively clean street level experience. NYC seems more organic and haphazard, though of course it certainly has its share of massive building clusters, too.

Philip - love the feel of that image... the model, flare, bokeh, all come together very nicely. Is it also with the 50 Cron collapsible you mentioned a couple pages earlier? The bokeh at the edges has a 50 Cron feel to it...

Very nice, makes me wonder what lens you used. Looks like the lens has some curvature of field, so my guess would be either a summilux 75 or a summilux 80

Thanks guys!

Close!

1954 50mm Summicron Collapsible -I like the classic lens looks more than the new stuff so I've been working with them lots lately. Now that I'm understanding the flare better on this lens, I've been having a great time with it.

Feeling more strongly Nikon, although could just be OOF, but adds to the look either way :P

Nice shot BTW, lovely flare.

Thanks man! Yah it was a 50, this one I took further away.

Philip, you are really putting those legacy lenses to great use.
I have a question on the firmware. When I tried to set the Direct Exposure Compensation option by highlighting the Direct Adjustment and then use the right and left arrows to choose On and Off. I can not switched it on, it continues to show as off on the menu but I can change the exposure with the dial. So it works but it still bothers me.

I got my answer on the EC showing as off but working from another web site that had beta testers.
"This is working correctly. The fact that EV displays from -3.0 to OFF to +3.0. The zero setting is displayed as "OFF." The display of "OFF" doesn't mean that the EV function with the thumbwheel is off, only that the EV value is zero (or off).
A user has to go into the settings to set the thumbwheel to OFF. These two uses of the word "OFF" in different locations, and having a different meaning, seems to be confusing.
Some thought that the EV should read "0" instead of "OFF." Minor detail once you understand the way it is setup."

Sal, seems there is always something confusing like this in Leica's electronics. Glad it wasn't a 'real' problem for you.
Joakim - love the rendering. Seems like a nice, simple bike, too.
Rocky - wow, that'll get the heart racing! Guess you don't have problems with vertigo?
Katie - I guess it's hot down there? I'll be in Dallas early in the week and just checked the forecast... sunny and 35C (95F)... hope it's not humid...

Ron - July in Texas is usually scorching, but it has actually not been THAT hot. Yet. Bring shorts and flip flops, 'cause 95 in the sun with humidity isn't always fun (especially for Northerners).

Gary, I did some informal testing with different profiles with the ZM 25, and definitely the 24/2.8 is not the best choice.

Below are some photos in this order: Off, 21/2.8, 24/2.8, 28/2.8 (I), 28/2.8 (II), 28/2.8 asph, 28/2 asph. In my opinion, the best profiles are the 21/2.8 and 28/2.8 non asph (II), though there are subtle differences in the corrections applied. Not sure which is really the best one.

PS: Having scrutinized the files at 100% magnification, I believe the best profile would be the 28/2.8 non asph 11809. The 21/2.8 is really good, but it introduces a slight reddish cast all over the image which actually looks good but is different from the color balance of the original non corrected image.

Ron, thanks for your comments. I think your last set is the best one. Composition is perfect and the color contrast with the orangy brick is very nice.

Philip, another masterful shot!

Rirakuma, agreed with Ron, you've got guts!

Gary, very nice and it works so well with b/w.

Thanks for the comparison Edward - much appreciated! I think that I will also try out some different codes but it looks like the 28/2.8 non-asph would be a good starting point.

The 28mm profiles are like some kind of magic fix, they seem to work well for a lot of lenses including the CV 15/4.5.
