Ryan - I see your selling your M9? What body do you have now? The Mono?

I am in the process of acquiring the new M. I need to sell a couple of lenses though to make up the difference. The Mono is still in the bag

Michael - great colors! The 2nd shot in front of the door is my favorite, perfect timing...and settings

Charles - excellent B/W portrait!

Gary - the train shot looks really good. I would prefer more contrast on the color, but the B/W looks perfect

Allen - excellent shot on the last page, really cool

Speaking of.....some recents all with the 50 Nokton II

Nice shot's Ryan. I KNEW you would start out with a simple kit (again) and work your way up to an M240 and set of lux's... Hopefully you can get one quickly. It is one great camera and I have no regrets at all.

The M240 is listed here as being in a 9 condition with an asking priced of $7,175.00 (new list price though not really available is $6950). I thought that it was generally frowned upon on the forum to sell items for a profit.

I think all is fair when an item is backordered... I pay premium for rush shipping and for an item I wouldn't otherwise be able to get.

I wouldn't object so much if the camera showed less signs of wear for the asking price, but, it is listed as a 9.

It seems like a markup is more the norm rather than the exception nowadays for new models in short supply.

Allen, that last shot is awesome! Works great as an abstract, but i am wondering what/where it is.
Katie, you really are showing off the the Nokton50. I don't know if it is your PP style or the lens, but it seems to have a very dreamy rendering style: Gentler colors, moderate contrast combined with a gentler focus falloff (compared to the Leica asphericals) and a slight swirl to the bokeh. I wonder what your observations are about the Nokton.
Charles, thanks for posting pics from the Cron rigid, i might try this lens since i'm still looking for another 50 that renders very different from the 50lux.
Michael, thanks for the suggestion, i am generally bad at perspective correction because in tend to overdo/underdo but i think it is good idea. The "Square" shot is my favorite.
Gary, that train shot has microcontrast in spades.

-Andy

Wouldn't it be $7700 after tax so that add should be cheaper anyway?

I haven't posted for a while but I've still been following the thread. My camera has finally come back after a month wait and my nocti arrived just in time for the holiday. Maybe its just a phase I'm in but I really like its painty rendering.

Thank you Ryan Ryan, you will love the M240, just for the ergonomics alone! I have not really picked up the M-M, for the same reason.

Allen, wow... superb composition. Beautiful balance of shade with light
Katie, love the portrait!
Ryan, wonderful set!

Rocky, stunning portrait! Almost an oil painting in the rendering.

Thank you Jabber My preference is the 50 perspective, and I find I don't like the 35 as much. If I need to go wider now, I usually opt for the 24 Lux/21 SEM. So I have ended up with the 50 Lux/50 Nocti f/1.0 and 50 Cron Rigid DR. The 50 Lux is great, but I prefer the 50 Cron Rigid rendering style.

For those interested, I have just received some photos last night on the modification for the 50 Cron Rigid DR. These were sent by Camera Clinic in Melbourne, with two options. The photos have been approved to be shown here

One is to mill the edge of the near focusing cam so it does not impinge on the M9/M240 body in normal focusing mode beyond 4m. With the M240 you have a fully functional macro mode, that will still be activated by the focusing ring in LV. Of course the calibration for the RF mode will be not correct any longer. The RF calibration for normal mode is unaffected, and I have found the calibration to be very accurate, even after 55 years!

Two is to modify the body of the M9/M240, milling a small radius into the body. This is great if you wish to leave the the lens unmodified, and will also work perfectly both in Macro and Normal mode.
