Gary - Second shot (thumbs up)

satybhat - I like the dog shot

zhangyue - Really awesome location!!

rsolti13 - 1, 3, 4.... You really make the voigtlander lenses work for you, I've never been able to get them to perform.

Actually, the dog took a liking to the Leica.....and the beautiful owner didn't mind the dog-shot either
Ryan: truly perfect images with the 35 nokton. I too, have never been able to nail the focus.... perhaps 1/10 keeper rate.. but my shot discipline is pathetic. also, unfortunately, I tend to change lenses too often (to maintain the novelty )

Very Cool Joakim!
Ryan Karr - love those! Nice to have you here!

Trying to use the 50 1.5 Nokton more to get used to the focal length. It's a stretch for me, to be honest! And DAMN my sensor is dirty! Shooting on a light background I can see at least 4 or 5 spots!

Ryankarr, fantastic set with all strong images. Love them all.
Joakim, thanks for your comments. Indeed the drawing of the Canon 35/1.8 is very special, and the photo does look like a miniature set.
Katie, handsome boy!

Two images before I fly off to LA for the remainder of the month..

The black and white is using a 21SEM @ f/3.4 and the color is using the 50APO @ f/2

Edward, Ryan, Joakim and Katie, thank you
Ryan, magic portraits! Favourite is with the Canon 135. I have always loved this lens
Gary, very nice classic rendering with the Nikkor 5cm
Satybaht, wonderful PP'ing and feel to the images!!
RyanK, love your images! Wonderful variety of perspectives, and excellent PP'ing.

Joakim, interesting how everyone is trying the classic lenses! I am waiting for two mint condition 50 Cron Rigid II DR. These will be modified so both ranges can be used with the M240.
Katie, great portrait!!
Adam, wonderful tonality with the 21 SEM, and love the 50 Cron AA shot!!!

Airfrogusmc - I like the second shot.

Charles, thanks.. I actually like the 50APO a lot, and even though I brought my whole kit with me to California I think the 50APO will be on the camera 90% of the time. The only thing I'm missing is the .95 (for the speed) but I think I'd seriously have to consider that purchase, as it would warrant selling MOST of my other lenses (excluding the 50APO), and it really might not be worth the sacrifice (28cron, 50lux, 75cron).

Adam, I really love the colors and rendering in the 2nd shot. As for the Nocti, my personal opinion is that it's not worth it, at the risk of offending many people on this forum. Ultra wide apertures are being over used and abused and the effect gets very boring after a short while. For serious photography, which is always about image content not background blur and ultra thin DOF, f/2 lenses are the best imo.

Allen, very nicely done! The 1st shot has a certain dynamic that I really like, with this geometric composition. The 2nd with the composition and light is a classic.

Completely agree with Edward, however, the 50lux asph is maybe an exception to that. It has some really strange mojo when shot wide open that makes it almost feel like a shot was taken in a larger format.

Totally agree about the lux. The WO rendering is extraordinary, probably the best of any M mount lens.

Agree with the two of you on both points.. I feel that on photo forum I tend to post shots based on the lens characteristics rather then because they are good shots. I do this because its nice to have people to chat with about lenses ect.. People who know and care about lenses! So it's good to see what lenses can do and I love to hear what people have to say. So I suspect that a lot of people on FM do the same.

The lux is one magical lens though!

To clarify my actual Noctilux intention. It would be using the 50APO during the day and the Noctilux at night. I could almost get away with just using the Lux, but if I'm going carry around two lenses to swap at night for one extra stop, I would rather just walk around with one lens. So the noct would purely be for the speed not the DOF.. For DOF the 50lux is an awesome performer and the 75 APO is actually fantastic for all crops of people portraits..

So purely on speed for night shooting.. But good to hear everyone's thoughts.

Allen, great set!!! Love both shots

Adam, I really like the way the 50 APO renders and yet it is so sharp. IMO you would love the 50 Nocti f/0.95 as it would give you the unique look which would compliment your 50 APO.

I also have the 50 Lux, and it is probably one of the best 50's I have owned. I cannot vouch for the 0.95, but I love the f/1.0 for portraits. Most of time during the late afternoon with the Nocti f/1.0, I will use f/2.8 to f/4.0, and it still renders very differently to any 50 I have owned.

Thanks for the comments all!

Adam - great color with that 50 APO

Allen - really like the first shot of the last series

Two with the Canon 100 f/2

Here is one with the 35 Nokton II at f/2 that my daughter (6 years old!) took of me. I was shocked she actually had it in focus and the comp was excellent....beginner luck

rsolti13 - Nice photo your daughter took, should let her use the camera more often. Like your second one.

airfrogusmc - The third photo of your second set on this page (793), nice.

mikethevilla - Fantastic, looking forward to more.
