Beautiful shot Adam.
Nice work with the 50mm swoop! I am finding I have to learn this focal length again... long time for me not shooting it! I am going to have to go find something interesting to shoot soon...

Very nice Edward, Adam, and Katie! A few from this morning... This was a local "Tour de Alberta" cycling event. It was a six day stage race with riders from all over the world. This type of event is very rare in Alberta and it was a ton of fun.

Thank you very much Adam, Allen, Charles and Gary!

That's a beautiful shot Adam. Love the veiling flare. Very atmospheric.

Gary, love the dynamic in the 1st shot, but both shots are quite dramatic, with the frozen action and the clouds. Well done!

Very nice guys!

Edward - this lens rarely if ever flares. I figured out that the reason it's doing it so frequently is the Leica filter I have on it is awful. The second I take off the filter it's impossible to get flare. However I agree with you, the flare is nice. So I keep the filter on for 95% of what I'm shooting.

Strange though, for so much money the Leica filters really are quite troublesome.. B+W rarely gives me the kind of trouble my Leica filters give (although again much wanted trouble).

Adam, I think Leica filters tend to flare a lot because they're not multicoated. At least not the same way B+W or Zeiss filters are. If I understand it correctly, this is intentional as most Leica lenses, except the very latest designs, have non coated or just single coated elements to keep the low global contrast and the Leica signature drawing style.

Again it has been awhile but I do enjoy this thread, I have not been on any of the Canon websites since going Leica. One of my doctors continues to ask if I miss or regret selling the old equipment, not for a minute.

Andrew- Love the China images, we have a very large Chinese community in Southern Calif. I have enjoyed hearing their stories of growing up in China.

Katie- Great use of the CV 35 1.2, definitely thinking of getting that lens as an indoor lens.

Zhangyue- I always enjoy building scenes and great job of using your 50mm as a wide angle.

I have been giving my new 24mm Elmar a real workout and testing its’ ability to take indoor photos even though it is a slow lens. I am including a few images of Grand Central Market at lunchtime and some of the Gene Autry Western Museum. One image is of the historic Bradbury Building, used in many movies including Blade Runner.

Yes, I hear that about Leica filters as well..
I have one Leica filter on my 50Lux, and one on my 50APO, I have a few sitting in a box, all the rest of my lenses use to be filtered by Leica, but I've since outfitted the other M lenses with B+W filters, as I can't get Zeiss filters in my size requirements.

I think I might switch the 50Lux to a B+W filter as well.. Having to many problems with it and the Leica filter.. But I'll keep the 50APO the way it is, and if I can't make use of the flare, I'll just pull off the filter for the set I'm shooting, and put the filter back on after.

Picked up an EVF today... Not bad, works as it should. I probably won't use it for anything other then the 21 SEM.
