Rsolti, this Canon 100/2 is a gem. Love the rendering. No. 1 and 3 are exceptionally nice.
Gary, you really know how to make the M240 sing. Beautiful colors and you captured some very nice moments there.
Tthorne, welcome to this thread, and what a fantastic shot! I think the b/w version has more impact.

Much appreciated! I agree, but then I feel I am so often biased towards black and white photography. It seems to reach me more often than color. The 240 is great for b&w, but having tried the monochrome, I do lust for one...
Joakim, both sets are very neat. Love the colors in the 1st set, and the b/w treatment in the 2nd.
Still testing the Sonnar. All shots wide open, ACR defaults except for WB adjustment, and slight contrast added to the 1st shot. (By the way, that's me in the green shirt )
I'm happy to say that I'm nailing the focus very consistently in good light.
Gary, great pics from the stampede! I really like #3, but curious to see more of that tattoo on #2 . How are you liking the 35 Cron ASPH? I didn't know you had one. And a question on the M240....do you know how much better it is at high ISO vs the M9? I have seen reports that say 1 stop better, but then I see examples from the M240 at ISO 16,000 that look far better....like 3 stops better than the M9. I'm pretty sure you jumped from M8 to M240, but have you compared to an M9?
tthorne, lovely shot....I definitely prefer the B/W. Great timing!
Joakim, really like the B/W shots above.
Edward, the 85 Sonnar looks spectacular! They look razor sharp with a very lovely oof rendering. Looks like the ultimate portrait lens. I may need to check one of these out....if I can find one. They look really good. Regarding focusing, you say you are nailing it, have you tried any other long length lenses? I am curious if it is the construction of the lens (well dampened focus ring) that helps you nail these shots or is it that you just hit 99% because of excellent eye sight? I usually somewhat struggle with long length lenses, though the Canon 100 is giving me excellent results. It seems like I can get very precise with the focus
I wanted to share this with you all.
I just found out I received a Mark of Excellence Award in the "I Shot It" B&W photography competition with this photo:
Just scroll down, its near the bottom. http://i-shot-it.com/competition.php?id=515c1bef18d04
Rsolti, love your last set with the vintage police cars, and the vintage colors and look
The Sonnar is indeed spectacular, and it's easy to focus because of the special helicoid that the guys at Cosina didn't know how to assemble, so that Zeiss had to make it in Germany and charge us Leica prices Even in the shot taken by my friend who is not a photographer, the focus is absolutely accurate. This said, the only other long lens I have tried on the M9 is the f/4 Tele-Tessar, but that one was really easy to focus because of the slow aperture.
Allen, this is really one of your best shots. The PP is perfect. No wonder you received the mark of excellence.

Thanks Ryan. I had to be pretty stealthy to get that tattoo shot with my wife and kids by my side. The 35cron asph is really starting to grow on me. At first, I found it to be almost technically perfect though quite "sterile" in rendering. After using the lens for some time, it really is a superb, all round performer. I feel it was just a matter of getting to know the lens. Super sharp corner-to-corner and pretty decent bokeh too. I would say there is a 1.5-2 stop improvement with high ISO compared to the M9. This is based purely on the many images I have seen from the M9 but I have never owned one. PS - there is no ISO 16,000 on the M240.

woops, fat finger...that would be impressive if the M240 was capable of that, wouldn't it I see Huffster posted some shots at 2,500 that also look fairly impressive for Leica. Looks as good if not better than the M9 at 1,200. Maybe I'm just doing it all wrong
Phil, nice shot, the more I see MM shots the more I want one...but you spoiled it for me. I was going to watch the Tour tonight . That guy is such a beast on the sprints, its unreal. By the way, yes, VSCO on those shots, love that plugin
