The last one: if it is digital, I can save the 'Man in dark in right side', but not film

we may want to move this to a more film oriented thread, but hey mine was shot with a Leica too lol

on film you can just expose for the shadows and use a compensating developer like rodinal, esp. at 1:100 doing stand development where the rodinal will exhaust itself on the brighter areas but keep developing in the shadow areas.

basically, like this:

excuse my crude drawing, please.

anyway the difference in EV between the bit being hit by direct sunlight and the bit in shadows was really, really extreme. please note that this is how it scans in on my scanner, which is quite flat. typically I do not do stand development like this because I hate shadow detail. I would rather just get my highlights where I want them and let the shadows block up completely. just personal preference.

Andrew, very cool. Adding GAS to the fire?

A few from a recent trip to Toronto, all with 21 SEM. Last two are cropped a bit, probably closer to 28mm field of view. Also a bit indecisive about which I like better...
(Referring to the meeting photos)

Great shots, Ron ... always love seeing your work.

The fisheye isn't for everyone, but I love the effect. The funny thing is I can't stand regular fisheyes, it's circular or bust for me.

Amazing Ryan ... which fisheye do you have mounted there?

Andrew ... these are all stunning but I especially like the last one ... well done.

These cars make the Noctilux seem like a bargain

A photo club meet from the weekend. Unlike Ron's group, we meet in dark pubs and no one brings prints because they'll just get stuff on them.

redisburning,

Thanks for the info, Appreciate your effort. I know there is learning curve in front of me if I decide develop myself. Can I treat negative individually like digital?(I believe not) or I have to develop the whole film this way. (I think so). I have no idea what is my exposure over whole roll and I can't treat my negative individually even I develop myself. Usually, I don't mind my shadow go totally black too, but not the case above, I want that man in my frame, at least that is my intention when I captured it

The flexibility of digital can't be beat.

Still M3 with 35cron, run out of M9's picture. (I am a resident of this thread.) 35cron with bug eye is just great with M3's frame line.

Thank you very much Joe.

Let me guess what's in the package. It's a black thing with the letter M engraved on top left side?

Andrew, 0.95 shot blew me away. a dream lens.
Edward, I feel very sorry about your loss. Best wishes for your family.

love the simplicity of temple shot. I have been use 'like' as well, I love this feature.

Joe, Congratulation for whatever it is,(must be something big, 50AA, M240, 0.95?) I almost can feel the same excitement as you do

Try at least a image at a time.

M3 with 35cron

Zhangyue, thank you for the kind words. Greatly appreciated. B/W film seems to suit your shooting style very well. Great work recently.

Michael, great angle. Are you hiding from the police when you took it, it almost looks like it

Thank you Joakim. Love the snow abstract, has some feminine forms

Zhangyue, if they saw you sneaking on them from the roof, they might have started to look for you

P666

deang001, I like the old motorcycle shots, and the tone is super!

Phil, Image # 1 is great, nice highlight control.

Lenticular11, I will move to a new system (DSLR) for some action work. I wanted to give Sony a chance with the A99. I need a 70-200/2.8 for some spots work, and they are very slow with the release of the updated lens... So I may go Canon.

Edward, nice work in the temple.

Joakim, the 24mm SEM is a super lens.

airfrogusmc, Congratulations on the installation!

P667

dalegaspi, congratulations on the new lens!

Ron, I like the new noctilux over the F/1.0 version The spherical aberrations at shorter distances are still there but, they do not overwhelm the photograph as the F/1.0 version. It seems to be better corrected. images #1 &4 work for me. New cam arriving tomorrow!

Bruno, great to see you back, and I look forward to your contributions!

Taylor, dalegaspi, deang001, & Joakim, thank you for the kind words!

Ryan, interesting images from the fisheye.

Michael, nice to see Trix400 in use! Reminds me of my early days...

Joakim, great to see more 24mm elmar shots! I think that it is an under represented lens.

Ryan, looks like a fun group! Nice shots with the noctilux!

Gary, good work on the penguins. Those shots look like they were taken in the wild!

redisburning, keep the film info here, its still Leica. Many of us shot film for years.

P668

Edward, my deepest condolences to you and your family. Family losses are never easy.

Michael, good capture with the officer!

Joakim, I would almost like to see a B&W conversion of your snow image.
