Totally agree. It also brings your viewer in. A much different feel than if you were shooting from a half block away with a 400mm lens.

I wrote somewhere that, as you start processing a color image, the M10 often needs to be roughed up if you want the transparency-film look of the M9 look. In this connection, I thought it worthwhile to post the color version of a B&W image in p.1479 #4. In the image below, I applied some "Structure" using Viveza 2, which works quite differently from applying additional "Clarity" in Lightroom. Both images work for me but in this case, despite the Turks & Caicos colors that I like, the B&W image feels more expressive. Generally, I find that the M10 is excellent for both color and B&W in very bright light, as long as you underexpose a bit to protect the highlights, in this case by about ⅔-rds of a stop.

Guys... Not such a great day for my leica. It got a bit of rain on it yesterday (maybe more than I realised).

Now it won't turn on. I turned it on yesterday, and it said it couldn't read the card. And there was a odd error sign in the vf... No response from the screen. As I was with friends I just left it, but opening it now the bottom plate had water in... All around the battery and card too. How on earth is that getting in there?? I thought it was sealed?

Luckily there wasn't much that wasn't backed up on the card, nothing important. Only annoying thing is yesterday was a good friends birthday so I would have liked to get a few shots, but got nothing...

I also notice condensation INSIDE the illumination window part (the one below the shutter dial). Will that ever disappear naturally...?

Anyone else has issues with rain or dampness getting in the bottom plate like this before?

Sorry to visit only with sad news... Happy Sunday everyone!

I have shot M240 in rain and snow, but not torrential, never had water logged in the base plate. VF, condensation - yes, often.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Tried hair dryer treatment to dry it out?

Sorry to hear about that! I am partial to the rice treatment. . Put a bunch of rice in a large Ziploc bag, place the camera body in there (baseplate off and no battery or card), and leave it for 24 hrs. I bet after this it will work just fine... Good luck!
