Continuing with digitalizations of old slides, with the same setup. The first is at Taylor Bay Beach (Providenciales, Turks and Caicos) and the second near Solomons on Mill Creek, off the Chesapeake Bay, both in the late-1980s on Kodachrome 64, taken with the M6 and the Summicron 50.

Thanks for sharing these nice shots of Luang Prabang!
Sorry to see that this is your last set, as i have been enjoying them. The first image from this set, is that from on top of Phousi? Such a great little city to walk around in.

Thanks Wayne! Actually there is one more black and white roll that I still at the lab

You are correct! First and second shots are both taken from the top of Phousi.

Thanks all for your feedback on the Summarit 75 2.4 lens. I might give it a try now that it has 0.7 MFD.
Lightweight is another plus for my aging shoulders.

Edward, I really want get into film again. I have a short honeymoon with Leica M3 and 35cron v1 and 50cron rigid. I absolutely love the combo. Leica still can't get me the same shutter till now. However, after about 15 rolls of film, the extra process step and I also need a box to store negative and most important Lack of time to adding extra steps make me give up that. I guess the same reason CD kill LP, Smartphone kill camera....

I also really love the 500CM I had for a short term. Great system. Another classic.

Joe, For these two, if I have to pick one, I will pick cron actually. I had Summarit, it is one of best short tele ever made I think, very sharp and consistent. It is slightly better/sharper at close distance than even 90cron APO and a wash at infinity at f2.4 compare to 90APO at f2. So I don't expect 75cron can beat cron in term of optics.

However, at the same time, I feel 75cron have some magic rendering I find only a few modern Leica lens have. (50lux ASPH is another) Summarit definitely don't have it. From samples, I feel 75cron has better rendering than my 90cron APO for sure. However, being a FLE design, it is quite fussy like 50lux. I'd be very careful about 2nd hand copy that I will only buy it from Leica Store that I can demo it at all distance.

Here are two more digitalizations of old slides with the BEOON + M10 + Focotar-2 50mm.

Leica IIIc | Summitar 50mm | Kodachrome II | Crossing to Lamu Island, 150 miles north of Mombasa in 1965

Leica M3 | Summicron 50mm | Ektachrome 200 | Ca. 1978

Does anyone in the world process Kodachrome? I have one roll from an old film camera my Dad gave me many years ago and I would like to see what is on it. I would even be willing to try to process it in B&W chemicals (or C41) if there was a slim chance I could see what is on it... I think I am SOL though.

I find the IQ to be very good and the small size is also a plus, it balances well on my MM-246. The build quality is not the same as more expensive Leica lenses but it is still handles well and all in all I feel no need to "upgrade" to the Summicron.

This is one lens I would love to try. Small size (and great performance) in that FL would be really desirable for me...

Good tip Ron. I very rarely reduce contrast on my images - perhaps this is something I should explore further. I like how your images are nice and a bit "darker" than most but still do not seem overly "contrasty". Very smooth....

Edward - I really like these images - particularly the color output. I am going to pick up a few rolls today at lunch. How do you find it compares to Portra 400?

Thanks Gary! The two emulsions are too similar in color rendering but I would say the Fuji has very neutral greys and blacks and slightly rosy skin tones that suit Asian skin very well. It's also better than Portra under artificial lighting.

Gary, here's one shot that to my eyes represents the typical pro 400H color.

It can be done, I remember reading somewhere that it's possible but results vary.
Sorry I can't be of more help, I can't recall where I read it.
