Reason why you barely see any people on my photos above is that I was lucky to be there before buses with tourists came. Also the cafe Leitz is great - had a good coffee and cake there (nice cake variety to choose from!). IMO this place is perfect for B&W photography. The inside architecture allows to shoot at low ISO (film) without flash.

I think about 2.5-3 hours including some adjustments, trying different film profiles... etc, so basically deliberately slow. It takes 2 minutes to scan a frame without adjustments.

This is about right - this weekend I developed 3 self-rolled rolls of B&W film in one batch which took approx. 40 minutes. Drying the film was another 2 hours. Scanning the about 120 frames took me half a day, approx. 7 hours overall. Where you save time with film is in digital post-processing of the scanned negatives - only slight changes are needed like brightness/contrast adjustments and some dust particle removal. I personally find scanning the most tedious step in the whole film processing. But it is necessary because it allows to screen the taken negatives for quality on a big screen - the very good negatives make it into my darkroom for printing at some point later. As scanner I am using the Plustek 8200 Ai.

I've been wanting to rough up M10 images for some time, but haven't shot much lately. Here's one I tried this is on.

Shot the last couple rolls of my super ancient Tri-X Pan 400. I think it expired some time around 1990? Anyways, Last time I used it I shot it at 200, this time I thought I would try shooting it at 100 but still developing for 400 since it was so expired. Guess it still works!

I used my M-A with the 28 Elmarit ASPH for these and no filtration.

How does this film (Bergger 400 Plus) compare with HP5+ 400 and Tri-X 400? Is there a severe difference? Benefits?

It's an interesting film stock. I've only shot a few rolls so far (I had 12 total) it's definitely lower contrast than HP5 or Tri-X but I do like the overall tonality and grain structure. It's got a bit of a softer character as I believe it was a French cinema film? I've just been shooting it at box speed, I've not tried pushing or pulling yet.

It's not going to become a standard film for me but I will enjoy what I have. HP5 and Tri-X are my standards and will remain so.

I'm considering sticking fully to Ilford for a while but I'm going to shoot through all the supply I have first.

The two emulsion layers look very interesting. It's supposed to have a very wide exposure latitude, hence probably the lower contrast.

Ah that's actually their NEW film that they just released the one I'm using is an older stock from them called BRF400 Plus (http://bergger.com/bergger-brf400-plus-1-film-135-36.html?___store=bergger_en&___from_store=bergger_fr)
