Hej, Joakim - Your morning shots remind me of when, as a child, I went to school in Hägersten, that in December, when I left for school at 8:15am and came back home at 3:30pm, it was this dark.

Hej Mitch! This time of the year is a good time to not be in Sweden for sure but at least we're slowly returning to longer and brighter days.

Nice, Allen I'm trying to figure out how to get my victims to relax a bit, what do you say to them?

We have so much snow right now (for us). The far far hills there are 90 miles.

Hailey and SRP by unoh7, 50 cron

We get these about a day or two before a storm:

Ring around the Sun by unoh7, 28 Cron

My skier snapped this one of me with TE 90 thin WO:

L1056539-2 by unoh7,90/2.8

I spent alot of time trying to replace that lens. Now I use it all the time again. Like the 50 cron it's taken me forever to appreciate . Puts wrote in souls and secrets, that at F/8 it's equal to the legendary Elmarit-M, which I tried but KEH sent me write a rough one as bargain, which I tested and sent back. Though lighter than any 90 cron, Elmarit-M is long and feels quite heave on the camera. No way I would ski with it. The Summarit has been very good, but TE thin is far lighter and smaller, and not so edgy at high speed. What my newer lenses do better is making colors.

Nice to see that sweet M10
My squeeze is just starting to get sexy, so I think I'll keep her:

That camera was LN in January 2014 It had a brand new sensor. I cleaned it once after Gary gave me hell, and it's ready again.....pray for me. Been such a wonderful camera for me. I prefer to take it on the mountain to the RX1r2, which I have lost interest in, despite it's great performance. Last week I did 28-50-90. But I may switch to CV 21/4-40/2-90 and loose near 200 grams.

I can't wait to see the M10 in action right here

If you have time I think you would find the Jameson's Distillery tour less of a fairground experience.

Thank you for the recommendation! Sadly, Jameson's is closed for renovations until March. I did have a splendid time at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, though, and not the least because the sun decided to come out and play before sending me off back home ... to a political landscape I'm not sure I'll even recognize ...

More from Dublin, with 21/2.8 Asph and M9M.

Jon

Haven't posted in a long long time, last Aug-Sept I spent 5 weeks in the Yukon, SW Alaska and NE BC. Here are a few shots when I took the White Pass Yukon train to Lake Bennett from Skagway. All shots from the Lake Bennett area.

After the trip I had to send in the 246 for repairs, I got it back but haven't had the opportunity to shoot as I am back in classes again

Great to hear from you again Robert!

Today we found a bobcat under our back porch! Not something typically seen in the city... After we walked around the corner of the house, we found a clue as to why he was there.

At least it wasn't the bunny I had to shoe away when returning from class last Monday night. It was kind of funny. I pulled into the alley to park my car and the bunny was blocking my entrance. It wouldn't budge. I got out of the car and it started to move got back in and as I was backing in the bunny moved again to where I was backing up. This went on for about 5 minutes. In the end bunny was safe and I was finally parked. At least mine had a happy ending unless of course one is a bobcat.

Thanks for the welcome back. I'll probably post more shots from my trip as time permits, though I really have to find time to make sure everything works on the camera.

Airport layover allowing me to enjoy a few pints of the West Coast style of stout that I'm used to, and to push a few bits around from the last two weeks.

Photographically, the most interesting destination ended up being the National Gallery, specifically the Millet (Gleaners) and Vermeer that were on display. The things they did with light ... simply stunning. My take-home is that compressing dynamic range has its virtues, too; until now, I've been emphasizing tones that I can add contrast to, but these masters show how softening tones can be stunningly effective.

I'm smitten by my 21/2.8 Asph, although my copy has a severe focus problem. Worth getting CLA'd. It has a comparable breadth of rendering as the 35 FLE, but with a very different personality. Still trying to wrap my head around it, but my impression now is that the 21mm has all the characteristics I love in my 21-35 and 35-70/4 R lenses, in a small package and with higher peak resolution to boot.

...all here with that 21/2.8 Asph.

Cheers,
Jon
