Really nice retrofocus, love all three of them - the snow/rain along the leading line, the suggestion of a reflection and the warmth of the portrait.

A few people around the Opera House. This first guy was great, took an absolute age to compose the perfect portrait of his wife, here he is gesturing 'left a bit.'

Thanks for the kind comment, much appreciated! The Leica M6 so far is only a positive experience for me - the focusing is so precise with this rangefinder!

You posted beautiful shots, too - my favorite of them is number 2 with the lines and the patterns.

I picked up an SL for focusing my 90APO. Works well

Adam, the SL is god-send for the 90APO, which is insanely hard to focus on my M240. I get much better results with the SL, especially if I keep shutter speeds at 1/125 or above. Another quirk that I have discovered with the SL is that the images viewed on the LCD look like crap if shot in DNG, only, mode. In order to get a decent look on the LCD you have to shoot in DNG + JPG mode, which I now do, and discard the JPG files when importing into Lightroom.

I am still learning all the little tricks and quirks with the SL, but so far my experience has been very positive. I find that I now reach for the SL more than I do for the M240.

Here some of my first photos taken with my Leica M6 on Kodak Tri-X 400 film and developed with D76 developer. I used the Leica 50/2 Summicron-M lens. The negatives were digitized by photographing with Sony A7R and Sigma 105/2.8 macro lens. Post processing with B&W and channel inversion plus slight contrast adjustment.

Great job with the conversion and processing. Gotta love that grainy film look.

Yes, the SL doesn't give you a 100% preview in DNG mode. You have to shoot JPG to check focus etc.

The 90APO on the SL is a pretty good match. I'm liking the lens a lot more now. On the M240 it was the only lens that was hit or miss with me. On the M240 I can get consistent focus with the 75APO, but not the 90APO!
Also really like using the lens stopped down now. Around f/4 f/5.6 it has a good look for portraits.

I'm trying to get use to the M246, so I'm not touching anything else right now.

looks great!

I've never used a lens longer than 50mm on a rangefinder, but am considering a 75. Is it difficult to focus?

Wilmington, DE...after the storm. I took about an hour ride around my town. Super peaceful. Virtually nobody on the road. I took a few snaps and listened to some tunes.

Good stuff Chuck. I like them both. Glad it's east and not here.

I picked up a 1.4 Leica magnifier and it takes a little practice but it's not that hard.

The magnifier helps, and so does the Leica Visoflex EVF2. I haven't shot with the 75 on an M, but I have shot quite a bit with the APO 90 Cron, and without the magnifier or EVF, my hit rate is far below that for wider lenses. Best solution I have found is the SL.

Not a fan of EVF. I shoot Leica M because it is a true rangefinder. If I wanted a camera with all the bells and whistles I would have stayed with Canon though I know the SL is a great camera just not the camera for me.

I shoot both - with Sony A7R (EVF) and Leica M6 (rangefinder). I see both have their pros and cons. What I really love about the rangefinder is the absolutely precise focusing - it beats by far the focus peaking/magnification focusing in the EVF of my A7R. On the other hand, I am still sort of used to look through the lens itself what I can do with EVF - big advantage when working with polarizer for example. I always need to remind myself to look into the rangefinder focusing area in the middle of the frame to make sure the view is in focus - if I miss to do this, I get an out of focus photo of course.

75APO is WAY WAY WAY easier to focus then the 90APO... I have no problems using a 75APO wide open at weddings with people moving, whilst I'm moving.. I've tried the same with the 90APO and it's next to impossible.

I'd say it's almost as easy to focus as my 50APO. But slightly harder to focus then my 35FLE.

Just wish there was a focusing tab (I know I can buy one to add on, I'm not interested in doing that though).
