I'm loving the 35/2.8 ZM! Picked up another 18mm ZM since I foolishly sold my first one to Gary.

Great photos Allen, Ron, Rene, Werner, Joakim, Philippe, Charlie, Gary, clmusic, canerino. Too many awesome photos to comment individually but I enjoyed each and every shot

Congrats canerino for the new MM. Looking forward to seeing more of your work with it.

Ryan, I love my C-Biogon too, even more than the Distagon I'm afraid!!! Enjoy!

Two random questions if anyone wants to humour me.

1) Is it excessive to own a 35 Summicron-ASPH and a 35 Summilux-ASPH-FLE? Really just from a rendering standpoint. As in are they different enough? I can't decide what to keep and what to sell.
(keep in mind, it's a FL I use quite often for work)

2) Would it make sense to own a 75 Summicron-APO and a 75 Summilux? Assuming you think you needed the extra stop, but keeping in mind the 75 Summilux wide open is hard to hit focus, and isn't really all that sharp.
(keep in mind, it's a FL I use quite often for work)

3) Random probably repetitive question.. But do you all think you could live your lives happily (and shoot happy) with just one lens? And what would it be?

Kinda just trying to clean up my M lens kit, now that all other camera gear (other then S/Q) is gone. A lot of focus is on my M-system now, as I try to figure out what direction I want to move in. Wondering if I should go full hog into the S-sytem (since it seems to work well for most of my work situations) and pickup the remaining lenses I've been eyeing, and the S-007 now that it's about to be released. Or if I should turn my attention on the M-system and just fine tune it, so I can shoot more focused without to many lens choices (distractions).

Thank you Philippe Great work with the M!

Adam:

1. The rendering is very similar but the cron is not really a good lens. The FLE is much better, actually used to be the best 35 until the distagon I would keep the lux.
2. Here definitely the cron. From what I've seen from the lux, it is not usable wide open for professional purposes. The MFD of the cron is very handy too.
3. I can basically live very happily with 2 lenses: 35 and 50. If I really have to choose I would say 50. Among my line up, I would keep the 50 planar. Among yours I would keep the 50 AA.

1) I have both but only because I have been to lazy to sell the Summicron, the Summilux is the one I pick almost every time.
2) I have neither but from the photos I've seen it could make sense to have both or maybe the 75 Summilux should be weighted against the 50 Noctilux instead.
3) I could but I don't want to and the selection process to pick only one lens would be painful, probably a 50mm.

1. I owned both and enjoyed both. I think the FLE is superior in every way except size.
2. My old 75 Lux was surprising sharp when it was actually in focus. I personally found it very hard to get it in focus and would have to stop it down in a professional setting for reliability.
3. Probably not, but 35mm if I had a gun to my head.

Hahaha... This is WORD FOR WORD what I was thinking (aside from the distagon bit, which TBH I might have judged/sold prematurely). It's just interesting to hear other peoples opinions. I think my wife is sick of discussing this stuff with me. Actually I know she is. The last conversation we had ended abruptly with "why don't you ask your forums, I'm sure they love to talk about lenses"

ryankarr, joakim, seems we're all thinking the same thing. I don't know, I just feel like I've unfairly judged the 35summicron-asph and that I should try and use it. I like the size, but I just think it's better to own the 35FLE exclusively, since it'll always be the one that I grab when I need a 35mm lens. It's been that way since I bought it.

Thus far, thanks for indulging me guys!

Adam - I certainly wouldn't dismiss the 35cron asph as it is such a strong all around (and super small) performer. However, if I had the choice, I would choose the 35FLE without hesitation due to the speed and rendering WO.

I'm glad you said this Gary. I know you like the 35 Summicron-asph, and I don't blame you. I am looking back at photos I took (haven't used the lens in almost two years), and I like the lens. I'm just not sure if it's worth owning along side the 35FLE. Since I to prefer the rendering of the 35FLE. I'm thinking it's probably just my imagination that there's something about the cron that makes it worth owning along side the 35FLE. I do like the smaller size of the cron though, no question about that

Day 2 with the MM. I'm REALLY enjoying the camera. I'm in search of a 50mm to go with my 28....I'm thinking Voigt 50 1.5 or Zeiss planar. I really want to stay under $600.

Anyway, here are some pics. I've always documented my family life (10 years) and this camera seems to be 'the one'.
