burningheart, I didn't do any research but there was two guys working with the engine so my guess from that and some stuff in the station house is that it is in action during the summer as some sort of tourist attraction.

Artisan Obscura soft releases. Does anyone have any comments on the size differences? Nothing seems referenced... http://artisanobscura.com/collections/shutter-buttons

Edward, Somehow, I just have a strong feeling that Leica will face trouble. I am not sure T or X will sell well, and they expand so much that there is simply no such a market to swallow such high ticket lens or body. The MILC market is getting bloody tough which is far from the situation at the time M9 0r M8 come...and the real problem I see is Leica seems chasing Japanese company for the feature and electronic gadget etc..., but we all know those Japanese MILC are disposable...

Anyway, who care, as long as I still love my Leica M and know what I need

Force myself back to pace, a few from today, Stanford Museum, more to come.

35cron Summicron V1, 8 element

The old friends feeling What a relief, I almost sold it

Dpedraza - Nice images. Thanks for posting these I have been thinking about getting the CV15 or CV 12 for my MM and lately have been reminding myself how wide 15mm is. Even though cropped on an M8 I get a better feel what it will look like on a RF instead of on my Canikons.

Joakim - The 50 lux my favorite and my most used lens. Cool classic rail buses. Is it part of a museum collection or still used? Looks in excellent shape. I noticed the pop cans in the window of your 2nd shot. My guess it

Thanks, that's what I was intending to do. But hard to get like colours. I have a few other images that I think might fit with that "like colours" series, but they're not desert plants, so kinda don't fit with the plant type. And if I do that, then I might be shooting flowers and all sorts of things, and then it gets easy.

Most photo courses I've taken in university have been darkroom centric. Guess that was a while ago, maybe now everyone has gone digital?

zhangyue - Third shot is good. And don't sell your Leica. Who cares what they do, use the M system until Leica dies out and goes bankrupt. Then just adapt your lenses to something like Sony when and only when you absolutely have to

Oh, thank you, that was actually more useful than I thought. I decided the smaller one would be more appropriate (more comfortable).

So... I have a lens, card, case, soft release, strap. No camera yet though

path of a mega-fire:

In the past 6 years we have had 2 mega-fires within a few miles or even less, both unprecedented for thousands of years in size and impact. Here is a set showing the most recent fire last fall:
Beaver Creek Fire

Worse than the fires; the beetles:

even in crisis, the backcountry is beautiful:

The last three shots show whitebark pines, cornerstone of protein and shelter above 8500ft in central Idaho. We have lost 90% in the last decade, as the old hard "20 below for two weeks" winters warm and many more Mountain Pine beetles survive and reach up to the whitebarks.

Hah! . I already have bags (but don't intend to use one), have a tripod (but don't intend on using one), the lens came with a ND filter (might be handy for bright days and wider aperture, although never bothered with this myself, so we shall see if I ever use it), and flash... Well, no I don't have one for that fitting but I am a natural light lover, so won't buy one.

So, still just need a camera... Donations welcome

Yeah, you can go a far way without tripod, flash filter and such.

A b&w selfie. The serious look is because I had to concentrate a lot to position myself and the camera for this to work with the slightly curved surface. M9 and 35 Lux

Edward, thanks for comments. Like that #1 and #3

Here are a few more from 35cron V1 last weekend.

Use it reminds me why I love this little gem. distortion free and very predictable(very important for M) meaning no much FC but very consistent cross frame performance slow down using.
