Well Greg.... Not exactly... a trade plus cash. I believe it ended up being a good deal for both of us as neither had the other lens and the exterior shows some decent wear.

Next time your at headquarters in Atlanta, drop me a line and we'll arrange something!

And nice picts as usual!

Really like that shot of the water at the beach Greggf. The details and sharpness in the foam brings forth memories. I can feel the foam.

A photo from a park excursion on Sunday. I did minor adjustments in Photoshop, which is outside my comfort zone of LR. I need to learn more PS as it vastly overwhelms me each time I load it.

update: I've been away from the forums for a while, so I have a "few" pages of the many threads I need to review and drool over. I've seen a lot of great photos from the lot of you here on this R thread. I am jelly!

Really like that shot of the water at the beach Greggf. The details and sharpness in the foam brings forth memories. I can feel the foam....Thank you cams884 It was a beautiful February day at the beach!
Alpha G...very nice pic above! I like the PP...and, yes, PS can be VERY daunting if you don't regularly use it!!
Alex...I like the composition of the tea cup. And great capture of your daughter!!
Jack...you have GOT to stop with the 28 Elmarit...please, for the sake of my pocketbook!!!! I love all the wood, and lines!!
Finally got to take out the A7 with the 50 Lux and 90 Cron...And of course today was the biggest(so far this year) storm NorCal has had!! I got wet!! Most shots were from the cab of my UPS truck...
Thanks for looking,
Gregg

And then the 50 Summilux shots...Still my FAV lens. The Rokkor 58 1.2(some pics on the 1.2 or faster board...) is a close second, but the Lux wins in my book so far. I'll need more time and better weather to really figure them out...and of course try them on my kids(A7 and mf!!)

It's official, the UK has had the wettest winter (Dec/Jan/Feb) since records began in 1910 and England + Wales has seen its wettest winter since at least 1766, the rest of Western Europe has also experienced significant rainfall and storms too, so Californians now know where all the water ended up this winter, well aside from the essential need to keep California lawns in rude health.

Thanks Manu, Alex, Gregg and the R-gang!

Gregg, I know it's a heresy to recommend this in Leica-R thread, but before I got Elmarit-R 28 I was using Vivitar (Komine) 28/2.8 lens in F mount for infinity shots. This lens is very small and performs well for architectural and *scaping shots. Itís not as good as Elmarit-R 28 (not many are!) but it can be purchased for Ö$100 or less. Make sure itís manufactured by Komine not others. Lastly, itís tiny so it should be a good match for A7/R.

Jon, but isnít the weather that makes your shots so marvellously moody 

I am glad to see R series lens to perform superbly on DMR. At the same time I wonder how much difference to the better (?) would happen if one would use the Sony alpha 7r body with a adapter ring? I am not familiar with the Sony camera but assume that the adapter ring does not change the lenses to AF but one is confronted with a similar situation as trying to fit a Leica R lens to Nikon body with a Leitax adaptor? This makes the focusing difficult when trying to adjust the aperture right for the exposure as the view will darken accordingly....
Does anyone know what is the "fuss" around this Sony 7R body and with the Novoflex adapter rings?

Thank you Alex and Manu, I've given up on Photoshop - the CC subscription was the final straw and my general ineptitude with the software - so post processing is confined to the raw image and as a consequence I've had to concentrate more on making an image in the field.

JaKo, you are spot on with the potential of photogenic lighting and atmospheric UK weather, sadly winter 13/14 has been a sustained succession of low pressure systems (rain and high wind) courtesy of an active jet stream, severely limiting trips, I don't mind the rain, its the strength of wind that challenges image making.
