Hi guys,
A topic of 239 pages are not a short one. I've read and enjoyed it for the past couple of weeks. I've seen many great works and brilliant thoughts here. Thanks guys for sharing.
I have a question about body, body for R lenses.
I'm now using a 50/2 and a 21-35 is on the way (exciting). I'm planning to get a 80-200/4 and if budget allows, may be a 80/1.4 as well.
You can tell I'm setting up my lens combination to R lens only. Holpfully these lens can cover most of my need.
I shoot lots of architecture, some landscape, and lots of family portrait. I have a 3 years old. So I need to do some video recording as well.
I'm now using a panasonic GF1, yes, an old machine, and it's not full frame. focusing are always painful, especial to my always-running-baby.
I almost booked a 6D when Sony released a7. I kind of got lost. I like the image quality of 6D, but don't like it's big body, and relatively weak video function. a7/a7r seems to be pretty nice, full frame, light weight, good video function, etc. But its battery is weak, and image quality is unknown.
I guess my main needs to the body are:
1. full frame
2. easy to do manual focusing, especially to kids
3. good video function
4. lightweight if possible
Which one do you think I should consider? any other choice?
Regards.

Been away from this forum for a while (honeymoon along the Cali coast - some nice pics to come)...
I originally really wanted to mount my lenses on the Sony E-mount because there was no chance the mirror would hit the back of the lenses and the adapters are plentiful. However, the lack of a mirror box makes R lenses on these mounts a little too long for my taste. With a telephoto, it becomes horribly unbalanced. However, with the 6D, since it has a huge grip, the balance is pretty much perfect. Also, leitaxing the lenses was simple, and didn't require as much modification as Nikon leitaxing. Battery life on the A7 is likely about 1/3 of the 6D. Manual focus with an optical viewfinder is an amazing experience. Can't comment on the 5DIII, D610 or D800, but they are all great as you can see by the samples on this blog. Actually, a used D700 would likely make a great body. Hope to see your pics on here soon!
Can't commend on video, as I'm no expert. The A7/A7r look to be more seriously into video, but without the AA filter on the A7r, I'm not sure how that would affect moire.
