First, Carsten. I painted a multiple layers of matt paint, second will be better with one layer on the finish surface. This is experimental ring, just for my expirience with coatings for aluminium. I'm not glued it

No need shave. Just remove the rubber ring and shot. But without ring not so good appearance

So I designed the aluminium ring and plan to stick it a bit, for example with few micro-drops of liquid silicone. If that - it can be removed without damaging of the lens

Thank you, Michael. I got this lens few days ago, but still had not many chances to use it. Hopefully this weekend I will get few more test shots.

BTW, this lens is heavy for its size! Said that, even after initial use my impression is that its build and handling are great. I suspect that due to forced stop down metering possible focus shift may be a non-issue.

Both of their 35lux and 80lux are heavy weight player

Some photos during last weekend out with Kids. I only bring one lens 50lux E48 with D700 has one bar left on Batt. However, I still capture about 150 images. another reason you want Manual focus

Rich,

Very nice images and examples of the 80-200 Vario-Elmar capabilities (when in good hands). Does your 80-200 f4 Vario-Elmar have a tripod foot or was the tripod attachment point the X-E1?

John,

Thank you. Unfortunately the 80-200 f4 Vario Elmar lens does not have a lens collar. I purchased the Novoflex Leica R to Fujfifilm X trans adapter specifically because Novoflex offered a separate lens collar for their Micro 4/3 adapters. The collar works quite well and in fact it worked so well that I also purchased a Novoflex Leica R to Micro 4/3 adapter for those times that I would use these lenses on the Micro 4/3 cameras. If you do go this route for these cameras, just be aware that the Novoflex collar has an Arca Swiss type QR plate that will not work with the current RRS Arca Swiss type QR clamps. The screw type Arca Swiss clamps that I have from Kirk, Markins, ProMediaGear, very old RRS, and I believe old Wimberly all work well with the Novoflex plates.

Rich,

Thanks for the info. I have been considering the Metabones adapter because it also has a threaded tripod socket. I will have to check to see if this is compatible with RRS.

Rich, I like the composition of your 2nd and 3rd set, However, I feel their color looks weird that seems you clip the yellow and green channel. I think adjust WB and turn down yellow saturation/luminous slider will help. Or is there too much compression in JPG? Hope you don't mind.

Jako, Nice and delicious. For 80lux photo, I have been deliberate to reduce the contrast, clarity and saturation. I feel it will reinforce its strength. You may want give it a try. I personally not only do PP based on subject, but sometime also on individual lens.

More from the day out, all by 50lux E48 a exceptional lens on all aperture
