p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Switching from Analog to Digital

Hi, I'm a night photographer who specializes in shooting architecture. I was wondering whether or not the switch from analog to digital would burn out my darks with no information. I don't like over exposing because it tends to brighten the fluorescent light that I try to capture at night. An example of my photographs appear below

You can shoot HDR and then tonemap to bring up the shadows as much as you like.
You can expand your dynamic range by 4 stops with +2 & -2 brackets.
Also, not all HDR images have to look like HDR

This is non HDR

In my opinion, digital gives a far greater control. Especially in post processing...

I'll second Donald's opinion. There's no comparison in control.

Looks like more tonal range in the film shot to me.
