I could buy a 100mm f:2.0, which would complement my lineup nicely. What price should I expect to pay? There is one for sale for 990€, or $1250. Is it really worth that much?
Philippe,
I got my copy from fellow FM'r for ~$950.
From looking at recent B&S forum sales of this lens, they were in the range of $900-$1150.
You can also check Jim C.'s lens database.

Thanks, Wayne. So this one is priced above market. Do you think I can charge members here for driving up my lens lust?
You might not want to do that as plenty of people here would charge you for all your great shots in the ZE thread helping them to lust over ZE lenses.
I think you will like this lens.
Thx!
I recently discovered this forum - so many great photographers with great photos and lenses!
I was little afraid before upload some pictures
Contax lenses are so fantastic - i was using Fuji S5 and Nikons before and difference is so huge! I`m waiting for C/Y Planar MM 85 1.4 now - i very like portraits so i think it will be my favourite lenses.
Could you recommend any other excellent Contax lenses? i`m on low budget but i`m searching for something mid wide, mid or tele with a lot 3d..
stunning pictures!
I have recently bought a few ZF lenses as they have fallen in price after anouncement of new improved versions (ZF.2 and ZE). So that is one option. people prize the 100/2 very highly but it is expensive and rare on ebay. truth be said, even the 85/1.4 contax does not go below £400. there is of course tessar 45/2.8 that can be bought for around £150. another option - look out for Rollei qsb lenses (not the cheaper rolleinar). well, I also love Leica R - different look though.
Both shots were done handheld, OOC JPGs, just downsized and sharpend. Images shot with this lens respond incredibly well to sharpening, you can get a lot of detail without running into artifact problems, and the transition from in focus to out of focus areas is uniquely smooth. At least that's my very subjective impression.
@Piotr_P Incredible shots! You have no mirror trouble with the distagon 28 or planar 50/1.4 on your 5D? I'm contemplating buying those lenses but I don't feel like shaving my 5D's mirror.

I haven`t any problems with mirror. But i had problem with "aperture pusher"(only with Planar) - it depends on body type. Some 5d had this issue some not. I cut some part of this thing and i`m very impressed with Planar quality! So i`m waiting for 85mm Planar now

whatever becomes the favourite here goes up in second hand market very quickly!
I remember less than year ago you could not find decent samples of 35-70 on the web, now there is plenty of wonderfull shots here. I won`t even mention the 35/1.4. I wish Yashica had released 35/1.4!
