Bună ziua nazdravanul! I am so jealous that you have both the 40 and the 80 of the new Hartbleis. So lucky.
Please post some pictures from them if you can. I'm sure it would be much appreciated by many people here.

Very phat, indeed. Is it a Canon TS35mm f/2.8 S.S.C.?

That looks like a Mirex adapter behind the lens, with another adapter stacked on that, perhaps a 6x7 lens of some kind? I'm not familiar enough with medium format gear to guess what manufacturer from the focus rings.

Looking at lenses on KEH, I'm going to guess it's a Bronica lens; maybe an SQ 40/4?

Yes indeed, thanks for playing

It really is quite the monster. However it's sharp and contrasty with good ucontrast as well. However it does have (at least my copy) an excessive amount of CA even when not shifted and I've had to use C1 to manage it (although it is sharp when corrected). I wonder if I have a bad sample so if anyone used one in the good old film days I'd be interested to know if it was good or did have this issue (I used the ERT and had a good 40mm Zenzanon but I only used it with B&W film and usually had a least a yellow filter on the front).

Well done, Michael.

Mike, those images look very nice. I can't see the CA, but that's no surprise for web images.

Thanks Jim. Capture One pretty much eliminates it, much better than ACR/LR especially for a lens that is shifted or doesn't have uniform CA.

wayne, I finally had a chance to go though some pics shot with the Hartblei 65...
Nothing spectacular so far as I'm just learning the lens, but interesting IMHO.

Full tilt on both images..

Looking the other direction down the bluff I happened to catch some guys just as they came charging up the hill on their bikes.
Gotta get my Eg-S screen installed and stop using Live View so much so I can take better advantage of moments like this.

Edd,

Thanks for the kind words. I'm definitely enjoying the lens, hoping to do some video with it soon.

Jason,
Thanks for posting these nice shots with the Hartblei 65!
How does it compare to your N 50?
Any landscape shots where you use the tilt to get extra DOF from near to far?
Good to see shots of CT where I grew up.

Wayne,
You're welcome. Lot's o' CT folks (past and present) here on FM.

I haven't tried using the tilt to create extra dof yet, but I hope to get out this
weekend to try that and use the shift for some architecture.

Well...the Hartblei is a great lens and is fairly sharp wide open with a nice
rendering style that I like already, not much can compare to the 50N.
The 50N is pretty amazing. Somewhat soft at 1.4, sharpens up already at 1.6
and by 2.0 is very sharp. The Zeiss color and rendering is beautiful. But really
that's comparing apples to oranges. They are designed for 2 different purposes
in my mind. I bought the Hartblei specifically to try to force myself to be more
creative. (which remains to be seen if it actually will or not)

Bravo Edd! Great location! I love that lens! Your 1st shot is amazing. The tilt effect
works really well with the framing of the window to draw the viewer into the picture.
It makes we want to go explore the ruins.
