p.1 #1 · Veho Slide Scanner?

Has anybody had any experience with the Veho VFS-004 Slide Scanner? If so, would you be willing to share your impressions?

Ok, well it carries an attractive price & some good reviews on retailer's websites but - judging by the deluge of replies to this query - it hasn't caught on with this photog community yet!

Sounds pretty terrible:

MS only? Lots of crashes? 2592x1680 pixels max.

5 megapixels equates to about 2000 DPI which is not much for 35mm. Compare that to a typical 4000 DPI scanner at 20-21MP. The Veho might be acceptable for web or e-mail use however.

Thanks for input & the link to the review (which I hadn't seen). Pretty terrible seems like a bit of an exageration but according to that review the software is very buggy & the output really limited to on-screen, web & email use. I think I'll keep looking.

If you want a decent scanner for a decent price, get the Epson V500. Of course, it's not a high end scanner...but the results are pretty good.
