Who is the idiot that put a shoreline so close to a golf course? SThe shore shouold be moved at least 2 miles out to sea so as to avoid such noise. Tiger could pay for it with what he spent on his recent imbroglio.
The Fed Ex Cup here in Atlanta is held at an older course in the city. This past year as someone was set to tee off all of a sudden you hear squealing tires and impact of a crash. There is all kinds of noise on this course as there are city streets all the way around it and it is a tight compact course. But whatdoIknow Im not a golfer.
I worked as a grounds crew at a golf course when I was in college. I came to the conclusion that most golfers are in denial for their poor abilities and like to blame something or somebody else. They'd yell at us even if we didn't make any noise.
I always thought golfers were crybabies. Real athetes you learn to concentrate on their objective and shut out crowd noise. Could you imagine Football or Baseball let a lone Hockey without people hollering at you when you're working. Wussies....

Nice image by the way...
Ignorant comments.
I have explained to YOU, especially, in all of these threads why noise is bothersome. I won't do it anymore because you obviously won't ever change your rude, ignorant, and insulting comments and opinions.

The ONLY thing IGNORANT IS YOU MY FRIEND. I am entitled to my opinion. Obviously you're one of the little girly men who never played real sports like I have. Learn to FOCUS GRASSHOPPER...
Jonathan, even though I was not talking to you directly if you are offended by my remarks I am sorry. I am sorry you are offended by everything and nothing.
I have played sports my entire life and I play golf as well. Golfers freak out because when you expect it to be super silent and all of a sudden there is a loud noise or unexpected noise it can throw you off.
That image without a doubt is awesome, but the noise from the ocean is constant, so your brain understands that and compensates. Just like it really does not bother athletes at the free throw line, or the football player making a catch, when there is constant noise you learn to tune it out.
I can honestly say a place could be as loud as you have ever heard, and when I dropped back to pass I never heard the crowd one bit, I only heard and felt the people that were near me in the pocket.
i posted this more as a joke, and to show off the surf at pebble a week ago. but truth is i have covered many PGA events and never fired a shot when i shouldn't have (well if you don't count the time a local paper photog kneeling next to me on a green fired too early on a woods putt and steve his caddie just about lynched me for doing it.) but this week it happened and my bad: i was late getting to the green and sure enough as i was setting up i hit the shutter and it fired one shot as a player was about to hit out of the trap. he stopped and glared at me and then proceeded to take his shot and muff it--did i cause the muff or would he have mis-hit on the first try before i pissed him off? he was playing for BIG bucks and i am just doing an editorial shot. i felt like crap....
Not sure if it would have been possible, but using a smaller aperture so that the background would also be in focus would almost give the illusion of the waves crashing into the golfers.
Not saying it would have been better or worse, just an idea. This is a fantastic image!
