I had another chance to shoot Kestrel portraits and this time I got a better light.
While I was talking with the director at WildBird Center, this Kestrel landed on a tree right in front of me.
That's the reason why I couldn't frame its whole tail in #2.
I tried my best to control exposure on the Egret but the lighting was very bright.
I'm in the midst of selecting my hummer images to submit to art exhibition conducted by one of our local cities.
If you're selected then you'll get 3 months of
exhibition for either a solo or a combined with other artist(s).
I reworked on this hummer image and this will be one of my hummer selections.
Today;s weather is mostly clody and 50% chance of rain.
Tomorrow looks to be a good day for birding.
cloudy and 50% chance of rain. To me that is an optimistic forecast for this time of year I would drive an hour plus to shoot falcons in the dim light
Sorry to go off track Hide This is another lovely set. I like the first Kestrel, love the detail. My favorite of the set is the hummer, the back ground adds so much to the image and the birds fine detail is well captured. Those are my picks out of this wonderful set

Hide, these are fantastic, amazing you could get so close to the kestrel! 1,5,6 for me.
Mark
Thank you,Mark. All the birds around the bird center know that they get free meals
and expecially when the director of the bird center comes outside, they know they'll get some free foods.
But I just didn't expect this kestrel would land on a tree so close to me.

Great set Hide! The hummer I'm sure will be a hit!
Thank you for your encouragement,Conrad. I actually don't have any idea about what other artists do or submit,
but mine is a niche subject so I may have a shot at it.

Thanks for looking and your kind words, alan. Without this lucky opportunity, I wouldn't have had a chance to get a closeup of a kestrel.

Great set of shots Hide. Love the Kestrel. Looks like you got pretty close.
I'm glad you liked them.Gary. Thank you. The kestrel was actually within 10 ft.
from me.
Gorgeous series Hide!
The Kestrals are just superb and your choice on the Hummer is right on the money. Beautiful detail and colors in that one. You might consider including a little more of that killer BG if this was a crop. Very nice work.

Thank you,Jay. The hummer is a crop and I actually wanted to include the BG
a little more like you suggested but there were some unwanted trees on the left.
But thanks for your suggestion.
