p.1 #1 · Davenport & Coyote Hills

Here are a some recent shots, the first two were taken on an outing with the SF Bay Area Flickr group. The last one was taken at Coyote Hills. I actually was going to look around for some beaches, but I saw the clouds. (:

I like a lot the last two images. The dark tones are a little too close to solid black for me, perhaps you can try opening up those areas a little bit ?

Nice stuff, very nice. The first is a bit too contrasty for my taste, or maybe it's as Santiago suggests and just the dark tones are a little too dark.

The 2nd is great!

Nice series! The 2nd and 3rd images are my favorites in this group. Well done.

Very nice set. I'm with the others....the 1st is a little too contrasty. The last is a delightful foothills scene.

Thanks guys!

@santos, which image(s) are you referring to? My monitor isn't calibrated so maybe there's a difference. 2 is probably the darkest, but it was during twilight. I kind of wanted to convey that, lightening it up a bit would work pretty well, thanks.

@all, Yeah, it definitely is contrasty, I actually had to decrease the contrast in ps. I'm guessing I should decrease it even further?

#1 doesn't do it for me. The stack is too silhouetted compared to the brightness of the foreground.

#s 2 and 3 though are just awesome. I really love the vignetting on #2, I think it really enhances the photo. And #3 is even better. I really love the subdued feel and I'm really glad you didnt push the contrast or sharpness too high.

Thanks Matt, I'll see if I can brighten the stack up.

Thanks! (:

Natural vignetting at work!

Yep, because it isn't super sharp, it feels like a watercolor painting to me (the clouds).

I like the sky in #1, it looks 3 dimensional.
