Why is there a need for 11 FPS anyway if it doesn't track the frames? Kinda defeats the purpose of 11 FPS, no?

Marketing. Nikon 11 FPS > Canon 10 FPS.

No AF tracking in DX and 11FPS is definitely news to me. I used DX mode sparingly and when I do I only single or double tap, which is probably why I never noticed the AF tracking (or lack of).

Paul, I agree with you, which is why I shoot 9fps with the D3, but I got it for the other features which are much more compelling. I rarely shoot any bursts past 3-4 frames, but at 9fps I'm still tracking an object moving at or oblique to me so I'm still ok, not as OK as John, but I'll take it for now.

John, your cave beats my cave. I thought the lighting at Crisler Arena for UofM gym & hoops was bad. I stand corrected, and you did a great job.
