p.1 #1 · Shoot Spring Training?

Anyone out there shoot MLB spring training ? I was planning on making a trip out to AZ. in March to catch a few games. I might try and shoot a game or two for Icon if I can get credentials. Is it tough to get credentials for spring training? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't know about getting credentials, but the atmosphere is much more relaxed at the spring training games. I've never been hassled about my equipment. You can get very close to the field and even chat with the players quite a bit.

Contact the team's media relationships department in advance with specific dates for games you're looking to shoot, or have your wire service do it for you, that might be the best route. Games later on in ST will probably be less crowded with media, as will games against the less elite teams.

Credentials for ST games are more relaxed than during the season, just contact the media relations person at the club you want to shoot and ask for one. If you don't get one you should not have too much trouble getting in with your camera gear. I have seen plenty of people sitting in the stands shooting with long lenses that I know are not credentialed.
