This is one of my first sessions I have posted on this forum. Been lurking here for a while. Learned a lot from all of you. I am sure you might see some shots that can be credited to those that frequent the forum. I want to thank you all for your inspiration. I would love some serious feedback on anything you can think of, even if it is just your favorites or the ones you hate. Anything will help.
I went out with Brett and Heather last Saturday to shoot their engagement session. We started in downtown SLC at 8am. It was really cold! My fingers went completely numb.
VPell, Any feedback as to what you don't like about the others? I wan't to work on getting better. Hard to do that without knowing what I need to work on.
I love 17 and 18 as a series. I don't know if it was intentional or not (hoping that it was) but conceptually it's brilliant. I also like 15 and 20. (Did these get renumbered or something or am I going mad? I edited my numbers after looking back at this post.) Cheers, Martin
Nice Expressions on most, I'm sure the couple were very happy with them. The wide angle distortion on 8,9,10 is a little distracting looking (being able to see both sides of the face at the same time)
Can't tell why, but 19 looks a tad unnatural, specifically his legs.
Thanks for the feedback! There is definitely some wide angle distortion. I shot the whole session with the 35L. I have lots of other glass but find it hard to shoot with anything else. Not much else compares. It is by far my favorite. Eventually I will get an 85L and a TS-e. I think the TS-e will come first though.
Well, I think you've given these two a lot of wonderful pictures. I know you say you've learned from others on FM but I think you have a style all your own. I never felt like I was looking at the same-old, same-old. If I had to pick the weak links, 7 - 11 didnt' do much for me. Almost seemed out of place. But the rest have a great quality and show your eye...and nice processing too! Great work all around and work you and the clients can be proud to show.
