Thankfully, I'm bless with 4 wonderful daughters. Being a family business and homeschoooled, they 'get' to help out in various ways: spending late nights in the office, traveling with us to enjoy time in a pool at the hotel in winter, and even tasks such as helping out in the booth or shooting.

Here is my oldest daughter (then 14, now 15) shooting an all day cheer event in Dallas - over 12 hours hand holding a Mikey and MarkII-N: (photo credit: Ariel Bravy)

And my third daughter, age 7- who excels at about everything (she's working math at or above a 4th grade level) - begged her older sister to let her shoot: (photo credit: CB)

That's an 11lb camera, and she only weighs 55lbs! (yes, I'm working with her on keeping her other eye open)

Anyway, I had to share the joy of my 'little' ones following in my footsteps.

Very nice. I wish I could get either of my two sons interested in at least helping on some shoots let alone working a camera.

BTW - I'm still working on keeping my other eye open also. ha ha

That pic of the little girl in the pink is insane!

Check out how she is using the entire length of her lens supporting hand to create the widest base possible, spreading the weight of the lens from her palm to her finger tips, which are also spread wide under the front element at the hood mount, in order to support the lens, while at the same time cupping her her hand to create a hollow for the focus ring to rotate, and placing her thumb on that focus ring to manually tune the focus.

Makes me think about those big burly sportsshooter guys worried about the pound ratings of their $300 gitzo monopods...

Hammy,
Four daughters? Yikes! I have four sons and two daughters.... The 2 girls almost drove my wife and me crazy. They are older now but it was a struggle at times. Hate to say it but, right around age 15 is when the transformation kicked in. Hope you have a better go at it. I see they are homeschooled and seem to be a pretty close knit family ..... so maybe the "outside influence" won't have to much of an effect on them. God Bless Ya!

The gamer rockers. A hammy signature. they are the best thing to sit in when you are shooting for 76,432 hours straight.

I've posted a similar image a few months ago but seems fitting to re-post it here. 1D3 + 200/2 IS, a slightly lighter combo...

Even if she has both eyes open, she may not be able to see around the lens.

Also, I had a chair like what's seen in the top image (but it was a bit too small for a rough college environment).

Hammy,
These are great images and I'm sure it is fun being able to keep the family togeather all the time.
I too have four daughters as well as three boys and the girls were the hardest to deal with at times...luv them all but the last one (15) is trying to get the remaining hairs on my head. But is also a very good photog in her own right.
She also has a knack with PS and works the booth when not preforming on the mat. I actuall had the pleasure of being a spectator at on of her comps last weekend which was really nice for a change.
Thanks for sharing these.
Jeff
