eardrumbuzz - Hmm, I like the original shot better. HDR version seems to have lost quite a bit of detail and seems to present a bit strange coloring/dis-coloring?

2 HDR pictures taken with ZF.2 15/2.8 (unfortunately I am still using an antique crop-camera, but a complete distortion free 22,5 mm sharp from corner to corner @2.8 is quite nice

) I hope to switch to a D800 in near future however.

For these HDRs I used Lightroom 4 with the following plugin:

http://www.hdrsoft.com/resources/merge_plugin/index.html

It works flawless and the nice thing is that Photomatix is only used to merge the pictures into a 32-bit TIFF that can be processed by Lightroom in the normal way. The possibilities to enlighten dark areas without introducing any noise are fantastic in this workflow.
