Peter: Looks like you got the focus spot on the eyes. Looking at his nose, stubble or ears, you get the feel for how shallow the DoF is. what is your keeper rate? I have the older 100/2 CY but have to concentrate a bit to get good and consistent focus at medium to short distances. i find it difficult for medium to long distances [not infinity] unless I am using 10x Liveview.
I don't know why, but for some reason, i find it easier to focus with the 100/2 than other manual focus lenses. Keeper rate is pretty good with this lens. I make all kinds of silly mistakes, but focus is usually OK.

ZF21 on a Fuji S5Pro at the local botanical gardens:
Edit: Pics updated...I couldn't figure out why the posted shots lost resolution until I realized that Pbase reduced the size and did a bad job. Probably still not processed optimally for posting, but better than before.
I haven't shoot enough with my 35/1.4 to have a strong opinion. I've mainly shot at close distances and at f1.4-f2 and use a D700.
The haze is definately visible but only in some types of scenes (often with stronger light). It's not as bad as shown by LC, but I guess that D700's lower pixel count plays a part in that. I starts to go away by f2 and is gone by f2.8 (where the lens is very sharp).
I have a few full-size samples which haven't been processed in any way, just RAW imported in ACR and saved as JPG (I used default sharpening i.e almost none).
Thank you all for your interest & praise. The ceiling is in the "Arcibasilica Papale di San Giovanni in Laterano" in Rome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basilica_of_St._John_Lateran), surprisingly the seat of the pope. I always thought that this was (part of) his seat:
(ZE21 @ ISO 1600):
rji2goleez: like the 1st, 3rd and the very last one [rusted]
uzay: strong 3D in that one!
Karel: thanks for the info. The 2nd shot is absolutely fantastic and
better than the first one IMHO.
James: beautiful. Yeah, they look enough sharp enough to be weapons for Shore Patrol
taz_k: thanks for the link to the samples. In these the haze doesn't appear to be problematic.
Lars: Looking forward to the many more 50P shots from Sweden...
Alright, here we go, some more from my fav place. Mt Cook mountain range
in Southern Island, NZ.
Sunset over Mt Cook. This is from the 40D + ZE21 Combo: [Sat/vibrance: untouched]
This one is a few hours after sunrise [ ZE21 + 5d2:]
Just to give a change of scenery, here is another one from the 21 [taken from a river that feeds off a glacier behind the mountains shown in the above pics]
The water on the foreground looks slightly crunchy [got to fix the resize/sharpen path]
abhijeeth: great views from NZ. I went there too 2009 but didn't have a single Zeiss. I'll have to repeat the journey. The lake has a special eternal look in it whereas Mt Cook is just several seconds like that what you captured. Great!
Mast3rChi3f: Your Madeira night shots wake some adventure lust again.
Phillipe, your boats study makes me feel impatient about the 35/1.4 coming next week. Very reassuring thoughts of yours! I regret not having a full frame camera to put it on but it's too late to go for the 5D2 now.
Lars, I think the copper thing on the boat is for making plum brandy - possibly VATfree (international waters?)
kiddik: I stunning mood from Iceland. Traveling to Europe this week, hope no more eruptions...
I'll add some waves:
40D + ZE 100 MP (the low tide draws the water literally up and back)
