Yes, I really like the new lens. So far, despite what others have written, I cannot find any fault with it yet, and I see shots which my 35 f:2.0 would not have rendered so well. I think the main difference is in the amount of detail, which is the one area where I felt the f:2.0 was not that great.
In particular, the f:1.4 shines, as noted by everyone, in bokeh, not only wide open, as noted by many, but also stopped down. But it also shines in a very fine delineation between what is in-focus and what is gradually OOF, and that gives a very unusual and convincing spatiality throughout the stage even for small items.
I know you were fond of your 35mm and am pleased that you finally got it back but in this newer incarnation. I saw your name as the last post and though ...Ah, it must have arrived.
...and it has. Congratulations, appears to have been well worth the wait.
te4o - Great shots !! LOVE the sunflower shots. Also really like the footprint on the beach. Very nice image and bokeh
bpark42 - Great shots from Mansfield Reformatory. Before Bob went to Europe, he did a great series of urban decay, which I miss greatly. Your shots capture great sense of the space and history and decay. Keep them coming !!
Philippe - Wow ! #1 and #2, 'Crisp' was the first word that came to my mind. Lovely flower shot too.
Dalmas - Very nice series. I feel a journey. First one is my most favorite. Composition of three trains and advert makes a great composition.
Elisemkii - Very lovely portrait
prosep - beautiful closeup. Bicycles pops out quite strongly.

Lars, as usual excellent images. You're one of the people I blame for my ZF.2 100MP purchase. Received my 100MP couple of days ago and since its been raining I couldnt go outside but here's a handheld test shot.

Luka, I certainly don't want to argue with you over MTF's but there is something in the rendition of the 35mm ZE f:1.4 at infinity which is much better than the MTF's seem to be telling you.

Another attempt with ZE 35 f:1.4. Weakness at infinity compared to ZE 35 f:2.0? That is not what I am seeing. In particular, focus is on the front porch, and look how much spatial detail the lens maintains on the church in the background. I am impressed.
Philippe, the shots you are showing are precisely what is to be expected from the MTF charts. Where did you get the idea that it would be weaker at infinity compared to the 35/2?
The MTF charts show a noticeably higher contrast at 40 lp/mm - i.e the fine detail. The weakness of the 35/1.4 is that it has pretty significant field curvature both at sagittal 20 lp/mm and sagittal 40 lp/mm. Between the two 35 lenses you can choose between one with better rendering of fine detail but with field curvature (the 35/1.4) or one with lower contrast in the fine detail but with a more even rendering.

Really strange. You are right. I don't know what caused it to stretch. I deleted original images from link, re-upload and changed link. Now it is sized properly. That was weird. I must have hit some button with my sleepy eyes. Strange thing is that when I use Exif viewer on Safari, it only gave me 1024, no stretch info. What app did you use to get that info ??
I used Firefox and right clicked on one of your images and then clicked "View image info".
