I have no details other than what's in the link but thought many here may want to be aware of this. He used to be a very active and helpful member here.
Dave in LA is a familiar name on these forums and I have admired his work.
I don't know exactly what illness he has but I hope he recovers soon, we miss him
Steve - thank you for letting us know. A while back I sent him a PM to check on him. But he didn't reply..... I've known about his health issues for a while so I figured he needed time to feel better.

Dave is one of the reasons I joined this forum. He is one of the people who's photography I respect the most. Dave get well my friend, all of us that know you miss you greatly.
What devastating news. He is a very generous guy who helped me out numerous times when I just couldn't figure out how to do something and explained it in a way that even my simple mind could follow. My prayers are with you my friend.

I just found this today an now I know why I have not seen any posts from my friend Dave in La.
I do remember us chatting on the phone one night about us both with diabetes. I hope that God gives you the strength to fight what ever it is that got to you. I will always remember you as an upstate New Yorker so hang in there buddy as I know all the FM's are pulling for you

Knew he was having health problems the last year or so but this is indeed very sad news.
