FANTASTIC work in here! I'm almost 100% at this point that I'm going to get the TC-20e III to compliment my 70-200/2.8 VR and get up into the semi-affordable super-tele range!

My best? Cripes. I don't know. I don't have a "best." Here's one that's as good as any I suppose. Ask me the same question tomorrow and I'll probably come up with a different one. I do like to photo in blizzards. Nikon 80-400mm VR.

Appreciate the kind words, JM. It was shot near Pipestone, MN on BNSF Marshall sub as a blizzard was winding down. It was the first train through in nearly a day and it stirred up a lot of loose snow. I love the soft light of winter.

There are really a LOT of great shots on this thread, especially birds and sports. BJacks' fox shot and Gugs' whale fluke especially caught my eye, just to name two.

Great shots! I like your portrait John. I used the 80-400 for some portraits of my younger son (a firefighter for the City of Miami) and they came out terrific. Sorry I do not show some of them but I do not post any longer.
I looked at the beautiful pictures from the D2H with the 80-400 and it is the combo I use often now to photograph wildlife and birds in flight. The 70-300VR is the second choice when I want to go light.
Congratulations to you all. These are all spectacular shots.

80-400 at the zoo. I think this was actually the Sigma version. I was testing it that day.

Not a good shot from a technical point of view, but I liked the emotive effect.

Screw the technicals, that is an awsome shot.

Excellent light, excellent composition, excellent story. What shutter speed did you have to use? I always get sea sick when looking through a long lens while on a boat rolling around.
