Canon .. 100-400 +1.4x TC and also a 2x TC (which sucked on the 100-400)
Sigma .. 500mm f/4.5
Fuji scope

.. with a SLR attachment and 30D .. 800mm+ .. IQ = sucky

Widest
Canon 10-22mm on Canon 30D ... 16mm effective

"Bigma" 50-500 + 2x TC + 50D = 1600m handheld. This setup is definitely not meant to be handheld.

Tamron 200-400 with 2 TX's stacked, so 1600mm?

Stuck a 14mm on a film camera once, and regulary shot with my old 15mm fisheye. Loved that lens, till it was stolen

now i shoot commonly with a 10 or 16mm on my 40D and 1Ds.
Shortest EVER would have to be a 1.7mm lens I used for a video camera at work

And if were talking equivalents the longest i ever shot with was a 300mm with 2 2X's stacked on a 1/4" video camera. So thats about 9000mm
Shook like crazy even on the tripod. image quality was OK even @ 480 lines lol

Canon 600mm f/4.0L IS plus 1.4X and 2X stacked TCs on a 30D (1.6X crop) for an effective focal length of 2,688mm. Just for fun to try it out and not for photographic purpose. The second one is a 100% crop or close to that from that shot. I did that after I just received my 600mm lens. I haven't done this with the 800mm though

Tamron 200-500mm zoom, sigma 600mm mirror lens.

I did not have a stable enough tripod to really match these lenses on my 40d, so I had to use fast shutter speeds to get anything sharp at all.

I've also had a Canon 400mm 5.6. It totally blows the other two lenses away for color, contrast, and sharpness. A high shutter speed is needed as well, but even with a little movement, its still outstanding.

It is incredible reach and it is probably a piece of junk but maybe anybody can tell us if it is of use for astro or birds? It's not too expensive at 445 euro.

For a long time, it was one of only two lenses I owned the other being the 35-350L.

Just a 70-200mm f/2.8L IS. Hope to change that in the future.

Edit: I have shot with 70-300s, but I consider the 70-200mm more impressive.

Haven't even tried the 2X on it yet, but will do so soon.......
