Hi,
My adapter is indeed too thin, so I manually focused at f/1.4 using live view and then stopped the lens down. But I made some more tests and found out that even though I focus past infinity, the image quality is way better at f/8 or f/11 if I actually focus the lens at the infinity markings, especially in the corners.
I now blame my adapter for the IQ at infinity and ordered another one. (a fotodiox, my Leica Fotodiox adapter is perfect so I decided to go for that one; the cheap one for now on, and maybe the "pro" if the cheap one isn't good enough)

It is very easy to adjust the focus on these lenses, there isn't a need to buy a new adapter. It will possibly not be correct either. I have three Zeiss to Canon adapters of various qualities, the cheapest being a fotodiox. And, none of them gave me infinity with my 35/1.4. But, I easily adjusted the infinity focus.
My Rollei 35/1.4 has a $15 adapter that was way off, but it is perfect after a quick adjustment.
