It's a good capture Empire, but yes, that light makes it look as if it was shot using a bad UV filter.. Is it badly scratched?
The lens is quite badly scratched, but I very rarely have a problem with it. Some parts of the image occasionally have lower contrast around lights but i's far less troublesom than I thought it would be - and for the price I paid it's quite OK in my books
It still has more contrast wide open than my Rokkor and a few of my other lenses
Yes they have, but 1200 is on the stiff side. Unless you want a LN- lens, you might find the same performance for around half the price. OTOH, the 1.4 is such good glass, that even a new ZE version canīt beat it by that much.
I have enjoyed mine a minimum focus distance for flower shots lately. Remarkable, both wide open and stopped down.
Awesome shot Andreas, and yes, there is definitely some 3D going on there.
Paul: For a mint, $1200 is about right. For ones with cosmetic wear but where the glass is in perfect order you can expect to pay about $1,000. The cheapest I've seen have been around $800, but then it was with minor scratches on the glass..
Okay....I gotta get this lens...
What is a fair price for a mint one?
KEH has them for $1200's .... is that a good price?
+1
Amazing shots Anden, Luka.
I have been trying to ignore this thread, but the photos just keep getting better
I thought I might be sensible and wait for the ZE version....maybe not!
I just found a CY 35/1.4 MM(J) for about Ģ390 here.
It is mint boxed, seemingly unused at all. I need to refresh my Japanese a little to get the 100% accurate info...
How does the price sound? Any heads up?
Earlier on this thread, prices were quoted as "fair" more or less around $1000. Ģ390 is on the expensive side for the 35 f:2.8, not for the f:1.4 Who ever said Japan was a country with high prices?
Indeed, I noticed the price quotations.
I think CY are not generally very expensive in Japan. I noticed that Zuiko are by far more expensive than Europe, or atleast the specimens I encountered. I seen few OM MC 35/2.8 for sale for about the same price as this CY 35/1.4.
I wasn't really sure about optical differences between HFT Rollei and CY versions...hmm..maybe I should pick it up then...
Edit: I think the reason for lens pricing can be attributed to the spread of the photography in Japan. Remember how in west everybody laughed at Japanese tourists?
500D, 450D are probably most common camera amongst pensioners for instance...
For 390 you should definately get it! If it is boxed that is a bonus!.
You will probably find one or two buyers here if you donīt like it (I doubt it...)
