Typical Zeiss 35 picture, I think. Old Mini.

I have special memories of this car, because my parents went with it from Amsterdam to Afganistan in 1972. Inspired by my trip to the East in 1970.

Quiet an accomplishment considering the awfull roads at the time.

What post did you do to give that lack of depth of field? Surely thats not just the 1.4 aperture?

It looks normal, I think, if you factor in the added aberrations in the outer regions, from the Speedbooster.

No special PP.
I used a Fader, to use the lens wide open. Otherwise it would be completly overexposed.

Were they back to their nest? Actually, I'd like to hear the story about these pics.

great fotos !

Is it normal for that species, that they leave the nest and stay so close together ?

...cats would be glad to find 5 of them at the same time....

the birds are pacific wrens, from a nest near a stairway at my apartment. i've see the both parents bringing food regularly the last week but have no idea where the nest actually is. there are six fledglings all of whom seem to be pretty fat and healthy but very poor fliers. one of the better ones actually crash landed on my wife's arm. i believe that one actually figured out how to return to the nest for the night while the rest are huddled in a very inaccessible corner under the stairs for the night. i only found them because of their extremely loud begging calls it was so dark at that time that i could not see them at all from one foot away. my meter read 3min exposure at f/1.4 iso 16000. birds typically won't fly (or move much) if they can't see so i figured i had time to try a couple shots. i focused by the light of my phone at mfd and bounched the on camera flash to get a little light.

not normally during the day, but even adults will do this on cold and stormy days (which it was in our tiny microclimate last night).

they seemed pretty decently hidden, so hopefully they'll be alright. mortality rate is pretty high among fledglings though. they make lots of noise, suck at flying, and can't really feed themselves.

for those of you on the edge of your seats, the fledglings survived the night and at least most of them survived the day. their flying appears to be slowly improving and one of them appears to have decided to move on to bike riding:

they seem to have graduated now to being able to avoid me when i have a 35mm lens on the camera, so any other pictures of them will have to be on another thread.

also, here is a flower wide open at mfd:
