p.1 #1 · Migrating Mallards

Greetings,

I was fortunate enough to capture a few vary close photos of a few migrating Mallards and gulls. Hide blinds do help!

I’ve tried to present a couple of photos that seemed a bit different, at least to me.

Your C & C is most welcome.

Larry

Larry, those are some excellent shots of the ducks. In number one, I hope some hunter takes out that drake hybrid who has some farm duck in him. We don't need him polluting the gene pool any more. That happens quite a bit by the way. Love the clarity that you got on those shots. That head shot is dynamite. Good job.

Great job, Larry. The clarity of the detail is awesome, especially in #3. #5 is well in focus and the light is sweet.

Thank you Al,

There were 2 drake and 3 hen hybrids. It's said that Mallards are respondsible for many of the sub-species of duck. They sure are prolific little buggers.

Thank you for the very nice comments.

Socrate,

I really had some pretty good light and the ducks came quite close, both make such a difference, there was very little cropping other the the Drake head.

Thank you for the nice comments.

Hi Jody,

I was lucky with some of the shots. It was partly cloudy and I just took what the light would give me.

Nice work Larry! I do like the drake portrait the best. Nicely focused and clear. I do like the focal point on 4 I'm just not sure about the angle of the bird. I'm on the fence on that one 2 is similar but I think it works better. Real nice job on the IF gull, love the shot

TIm,

Thank you. Yep, the drake portrait is my favorite as well. The hen in the 4th photo was streching her neck forward to drink water.

Gulls are good practice for BIF.

Hi Lil,

The drake portrait turned out, I did crop off the body. The hen in the 4th photo was streching her head forward and down to drink water.

Thank you for your comments.
