p.1 #1 · Bighorn Sheep at Banff

Its the season to stand by the road and eat salt.

This bighorn was on the Bow Valley Highway between Castle Mountain and Banff at the end of our trip to photograph landscapes that did not turn out well because of lack of light.

A good day anyway.

Comments and feedback is appreciated.

All 7d with 100-400LIS autoiso

leary of auto-ISO function, prefer to use manual select of this..if I need 800 then set it to 800 ect..keep the ISOs low as possible for better IQ...ntw the 7d is looking better and better in hands of people as yourself knowing how to use it...looking into upgrading to a 7D

Beautiful portratis Scott. I especially like # 2 with the lovely curve of the horn encircling and leading to the eye.

Digitalbug30d: The autoiso on 7d works. If you look above at the combination of iso and shutter speed, I would make similar decisions in almost every case but without the iso I would miss 1/3 of the pictures because I would have only set it once. So while I agree with your spirit of not being automatic, like the auto exposure, auto focus, the auto iso, is now better than human when you suddenly come across a animal and don't have much time. I have programmed c1 as autoiso, one shot, centre auto expansion for far. I programmed c2 as auto iso, ai servo for close. So when I come suddenly on an animal its either c1 or c2 and shoot. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

Martin: Thank you for the feedback. The horn does make the picture work. Much appreciated. Scott
