p.1 #1 · Sold: Nikon 35-70 2.8 $250

I recently bought this lens from a local seller who misrepresented the lens. The following is an accurate representation of the lens. I am selling it because I have decided not to send this lens in for adjustment. I was going to bring it to a local authorized Nikon repair center to get it adjusted but decided to buy a prime or two instead. I borrowed most of this description from a recent sale on FM since it accurately described my lens even down to the test shot he posted.

Here is the link.

Here is what I have found with my Nikon AF 35-70mm f/2.8 lens. Glass is very good. The body of the lens is in good condition showing some normal wear. Mechanically, everything works well. Optically, the lens produces great images. At the longer zoom range, the lens front focuses. I used the lens on my D700 and kept AF tunning at +20 to minimize the issue. This lens produces sharp images (if you set your AF+20) at 55-70mm at f/4 and above, 40-55mm at f/2.8 and above, and at 35-40mm the lens is sharp at f/4 and above. These are my observations when taking pictures at the closest focusing distance. Of course, as the distance increases the performance improves.

Basically if you use this lens as an f/4 lens it will produce very nice images for you. It front focusses at the long end and back focuses at the short end when used at f/2.8.

The price is $250 which includes shipping and PP fees. The lens comes with the caps only.

If this hasn't sold by Monday then I think I might just send it into Nikon and have them go through the lens and refurbish it. The glass is nice and sharp so it's definitely worth having it worked on if you want to use it at f/2.8 through out its range.

I just don't know if I need this lens so I'm trying to sell it before sending it in.
