I love my Sigma 28mm too, such an underrated lens but I find the 50mm FL much easier to use as a do-all lens. I use the Nikon 50mm 1.8D. Have been thinking about upgrading to the Sigma 1.4 though.

Good question.

As a main shooter without a doubt the 35L on a crop body, or the 50 1.4 on a FF body.

As a second the 70-200 2.8 IS so long as I did some curls the day before.

I would never shoot a wedding professionally with a single lens but if I were going "Uncle Bob" I would take the 24-105L and stay out of the way.

24L on 1.3x crop (I like my focus points to cover a lot of the frame, hence no FF.)

thinking about it, I think I shot most of last week's wedding with that combo, bringing out the 85L for some fun once in a while...
