Probably one of those deals where they tell you they'll meet you late at night, in a parking lot, in a bad part of town, you bring the money, cash of course, they'll bring the lens (and perhaps a few other guys, or a knife/gun)
I've read many accounts of Craigs list robbery attempts like that where the buyers are knowing showing up with a large sum of cash thinking they are getting a great deal and getting more than they bargained for.
Your basically telling a complete stranger where your going to be, and that your going to have several thousand dollars on you when you get there. Not a very smart thing to do.
Might be legit, but I'd play it very cautious and if anything sounds off, pass on the deal. Best case senerio is that its just stolen and you could be liable for receiving stolen goods, and given the price, you can't really say you didnt know.
I know a woman who works at a camera store. She has a rich customer, a hobbyist, whom she estimates spent more than $100K last year with her. After playing - or not - with the stuff, he often offers her the stuff he doesn't want for far, far less than what they are worth. He doesn't really care to get what he could for his stuff. And, actually, she doesn't either, far preferring to an easy sale to someone she likes dealing with, then getting the full market price.

TMark... tell her to give the guy my email address... he doesn't care to get what stuff's worth, and I love paying less. Good match I'd say!
I told her to have him call me, but I'm assuming she never did, because he never did. I don't blame her for wanting the good deals to pass through her first.
