p.1 #1 · Blizzard experience on San Gorgonio Nov 2008

This was a hike I did in Nov 2008 and I jsut bought my first DSLR(Canon Rebel XSi with 18-55mm kit lens). I just bought some much better glass and received my 5D Mk II last week so I should be taking a lot better photos in the future. It was way below freezing near the summit and winds were holding steady at 50 mph with gusts of 80-90mph. I loved it even though I was freezing and dealing with frost development on my lens constantly as you can see with the first photo.

The clouds were extremely fast and always changing their form. Great day for dramatic cloud shots.

Dramatic indeed! I love how quickly the weather changes. Patrick has the same poles I do!

Those temperatures and wind conditions... the GA boy in me would love to experience something as wild as that!

Gorgeous set! I love the composition and drama in 2-4. The last one is good too.

Ariel Bravy...All three of us have the sames poles... It was an awesome and refreshing experience to be up in the mountains in those conditions.

Tim...Yes sir it was

Dpic_artic...Thanks! 2-4 are my favorite. That was a large snow dust devil that actually started below me on the mountain side and travel right through my position and off in the distance as pictured. I was actually scared because we were on a traverse that had a steep drop off and the winds in that snowdevil had to be between 60-80mph. I just hunkered down when it was on top of me and then I snapped those photos right when it cleared.
