Very nice! Only suggestions I can offer are crop even tighter and watch your horizons (might be off in #3). Otherwise, beautiful shots. #6 (Not sure if that team photo is something that will go to all players/families, but if so, it'd be great to put all the players' names on there. It WILL come in handy 10 or 12 years down the road.)

Cute action shots. On the team shot, don't be afraid to ask the coaches to drop to a knee to even up the lines and allow for the tighter crop.
great observation I will remember that in the spring.

I guess you're just a lot closer to these girls than I get shooting soccer - my BG are not near that blown out with 300/2.8. My players too tall
Thanks.
U6 in out area is 3 on 3 with small fields. U8 moves up to 6 on 6 and slightly bigger fields etc. I have some time before I have to make the 400 2.8 purchase.
Bruce, I also use the Sigma 120-300 with good success. On larger fields I use a 1.4x extender (Canon) which has worked well. Yes, it take is to f4 but at the distances I use it the DOF is still pretty tight. I am starting to research the Sigma 1.4x to see if there is any way that combination would perform better. Still - a lot less expensive than the 400 and I really like having the zoom. I should add that I always shoot from the sidelines so I only need 400 when on a big (e.g. high school) field and am trying to shoot across the field or from the endline to mid-field. Of course, high school players fill the lens much more than the little tikes.
Enjoy shooting them while they are young. As another poster said they are really cute.
