Centered? Is good What a beautiful little bird RT, stunning orange. I think some NR would be most beneficial here on this beautiful BG IMO

What bird is it, RT? Nice job capturing the moment! The first one could stand a tad of noise reduction. [have you tried NeatImage?]

Two beautiful images, RT. Properly exposed, with fine detail and pleasing bg.

The first one is a standout, really beautiful capture. I'm seeing quite a bit of noise in the background though. What ISO were you shooting??

Thanks all!

It's a Robin (Erithacus rubecula) (tech: 1/160th, F5.6, 700mm, 1d)
There is a bit of noise in the bg, especially on the cropped one (first), but I like that

In ACR, you can adjust the Luminance slider to reduce some of that noise.

As well, you can adjust the Mask slider, while holding down the Alt key, until the background goes solid black, indicating no sharpness applied to it in ACR.

In CS4, I also use Noise Ninja on its own layer. After applying noise reduction for a clean sky (or background as here), I add a mask to the layer, and use a brush over the parts I do not want the noise reduction to apply to.

Goodbye noisy sky and backgrounds.

LIke that lonely bird.
