p.1 #1 · A Weekend With Simon.

I had an opportunity this weekend to join up with Simon Parsons. He described the conditions we encountered on our Saturday journey in an earlier post:

It was quite exciting experiencing the wrath of nature that greeted us when we first arrived at the Seven Sisters area. Fortunately, we caught a brief break in the weather to prevent a complete wash out. The wind was blowing so fiercely, I was concerned about my gear being blown over.

Cold and damp, we traveled back to Simon's home, where we were treated to a wonderful dinner prepared by his lovely wife, Naomi. I was completely overwhelmed by the hospitality that had been bestowed on me throughout the weekend by both Simon and his wife. Thanks again for all the kindness, Simon.

Day two was an improvement in the weather conditions, and we were blessed with some nice sunlight, and terrific clouds.

Here are a few images from this weekend. I only have my laptop to process. Not certain how they might come out. Regardless, I know they face some pretty stiff competition from Simon's early posts.

Many of you have seen photos from the private estate where Simon was awarded a commission for a photo project. Large herds of deer abound on this estate. Here is one running away from Simon,

great set Ed, for me #3 is the best of the bunch here

seriously they are all really nice. its amazing how somebody new interprets the scene i see on a regular basis.

the buck running is a great shot too, considering the weather we faced 1hr later or so! how did the image of the fighting pair come out?

these are all magnificent shots Ed. Very good exposures, very good comps, beautiful colors and excellent pp. All four of them are really good.

Very cool man you are lucky in that your job requires international travel how very cool. Beautiful set here. Digging that Deer in #3 very nice. Glad you had a great time with Simon, hope to see more in the coming days

Very nice, especially the windmill. It's a nice contrast to Simon's view with the motion blurred clouds. I like how the structure is all encompassed by the big cloud.

You should do more processing on your laptop.....these came out great! Love the first two. the 2nd in particular is such a strong composition.....and your treatment of the clouds is just superb.

Very nice set, Ed. Wonderful atmospheric view in the 1st....and the soft glow in the clouds is just delicious!
I had the good fortune to meet Simon about a year ago. It was a miserable, cold, grey, drizzly day in Wiltshire, but we still had a blast, especially when taking a respite from the weather in a local pub.

Seven Sisters and Windmill and fabulous shots....not sure about the 3rd though.

It is so nice to see and hear all of the wonderful experiences we have seen on these
FM get-togethers. Would a wonderful group that all share a similar passion.
