Nice tutorial, similar to what I used to do in PS .... now, I've been doing all my teeth whitening in LR for some time now ..... quick adjustment brush preset, ... paint the teeth .... tweak to taste .... very quick and easy ..... and applied before any pixel editing steps are needed.
The adjustment brush. Though to my knowledge, it doesn't have any options to select a specific color range so you must be a little more careful where you paint.
I do prefer editing in Lightroom as often as I can but with this method, using the adjustment layer is still a non-destructive edit which is "ideal".
I've found that you can do a great deal of editing within Lightroom that is normally a Photoshop task. I hope to cover some of those tricks soon.

butchM how are U doing this whitening in LR?
I set the adjustment brush to auto mask, use a soft edge brush and paint the teeth ... then if needed ... I turn the masking off, and soften the edges of the mask as needed by erasing any rough edges ... adjust exposure and or brightness up a bit, and drop saturation a touch .... works well on the majority of images and I do not need to create a derivative image .... so if all I need to retouch is basic toning, color correction and a few minor blemishes .... I have less files to be concerned with ... which is my goal ... only to to go to PS when it is absolutely necessary .... don't get me wrong ... I love PS and will use it as needed ..... I would much prefer to use it less ... with each release of LR, that goal becomes more realistic .... If and when LR would include a good patch tool to help with dealing with stray hair, etc. .... I would be very content ....

I absolutely agree, I would work 100% in Lightroom if that were only possible. The more features they add, the more likely that will happen.
