HOW MUCH would you pay for a 5D body with 25k actuations with a Canon body grip, and 4 canon BP 511A batteries with all the strap, cd, cables etc included?
Just curious as to what the FMer's pricing is on such a package......
I bought a refurbished one from Adorama for $1500 (this past summer). Seemed a little high to me, when comparing to those on the B+S forums, but I wanted one that had already went through Canon for a tune-up.
The camera was in perfect condition, it really looked like it had never even been used. I've been a happy camper and have already clicked off 7K actuations (give or take).
As an aside, I noticed the price for refurbs (at Adorama) climbing in the fall - my guess is they are becoming harder to come by? I dunno...
The alone grip holds it value (usable with multiple bodies), so that's still in the $100-200 range. Canon-branded batteries are going to have a bit of a premium (~$20-40) over generics (which go for ~$10). For the 5D body, and 25k actuations is pretty low (for a pro anyway), so it should be in good shape. I think Davenfl's estimate above is pretty spot on. For just the body, I would expect around $1k even.
I've paid something around this much for the three used cameras I bought on B&S - sound almost like the ones you are describing. You'll pay more if you go through ebay or DWF.
Never had an issue with the ones I've bought. I did have to send my own camera back in to replace the mirror, but that was a free fix as I suppose that is a known issue with the 5Ds.
I tried to sell mine with an intermittent LCD problem (as in, once every 6 months) for like $900.00 CAD, nobody wanted it - but, now I use it as my backup/street cam, kinda glad I did. x2 1dsmkii's + x2 5D's ftw!
i've sold that exact package last year for $1600 .. and have seen the same going for around 1300-1400 .. so anything lower than that would be a nice pick up i think ..
I paid $1200 for both of my bodies. One is in okay condition and functions perfectly. The other was mint when I bought it. Grips and batteries are cheap. I get more shots with my aftermarket eBay batteries than I do with the Canon OEM batteries that came with the bodies. One of them came with Impact batteries....those are horrible.
Considering these nicer camera shutters are rated for 100k actuations, 25k isn't really that much in the grand scheme of things. I'd pay about 1200-1300 USD for a 5D.
