We had an unexpected break in a rather vigorous storm here--I went out to try my luck with the local comorants--who are at best pretty good clowns--clumsy--and sort of goofy.
Here is one at it's best. I would have wished for less wing blur--but if you have ever seen their wings--they are pretty dreadful--so I think it is good we can't see them too clearly! Enjoy! http://www.pbase.com/herderdog/image/119488343/original.jpg

Thanks, Tom--No--this was out a Point No Point. The birds sit out on an old pier and fly in and out all the time. They knock each other off of the timbers and basically fall into the water. Quite a swift group they are!
Fantastic shot -totally new prespective I've never seen before. It really shows the form of the bird much better than the typical side-on flight shots I always get.
